I just heard weird noise under the hood while I was driving on the interstate. The noise is like buzzing or rustling for a few seconds every time when I push gas pedal or release it. It is likely related to gas pedal or throttle body, but it doesn't affect engine performance. Just unpleasant noise. Do I need to lube gas pedal or throttle linkage? I would appreciate member's advice. I feel like the gas pedal is spongy.
It happens only when I move the pedal, push or release it. Sometimes it sounds like creaking or squeaking. I tried to lubricate the pivot point of the gas pedal, but it's hard because of the limited access.
Have you manually opened the butterfly at the throttle body to see if the spring is the cause? It could be the cable needing lubed or could even be build up in the throttle body.
