i dont know why but the dash lights are dim. i put the meter on full but i can barely see how much gas i have cause there is almost no light coming from there. its the same for my water temperature. i can't tell if its the battery for the car or the lights behind the dash. my car doesn't have anything external drawing power from the battery either so i'm stumped. how exactly do i fix this?
alternator could also be an issue. any lights in my car that arent HID's, or LED's, dim when the car idles, and then as soon as u tap the gas, they get brighter. same thing goes for the blower motor. i plan on changing my ALT very soon.
My oem battery only made it 3 years but thats with system, lighting and what not. let us know if the battery tests good or not and we can go from there.
If you have battery issues that are causing dim dash lights, you would probably have trouble starting as well. Are the rest of the lights (outside of the gauge cluster) also dim? If they are, it's most likely the rheostat (dimmer). If you only have dim lights on the gauges, you have either burnt out bulbs or a bad connection.
If you turn the dimmer switch through the full range of motion, do you see a difference?
i do see a difference but only half way. the other half does nothing at all
