where is the PCV valve?

it runs from your IM to your engine cover ( you have to remove the plastic cover to see it )..

the valve is a brass valve...

i replaced mine for $3 at autozone.. but everyone says you can just soak it in brake cleaner and it'll be good as new.

yep.. alot of people have put catch can's on the pcv line... and on the breather line also.

you just unscrew it with a wrench... it should break loose easily..

i turned mine the wrong way about half a turn... then when i realized i was going the wrong way (because you should turn it counterclockwise, as if you were standing from the other side.. lol)

it broke free with about 40lbs of force.. not much.

Bringing up an old thread....

I'm trying to replace the PCV valve on a 98 elantra. I've read through the forum post, and looked at the pictures but still am not sure where it is. Is it actually in a hose? I've looked at HMAservice.com, and scoured the internets but still no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
