    Default Oil Drain Plug problem.

ive done a more than a couple of oil changes in the life of my 02 GLS, but i am attempting another one now, and im afraid that the oil plug is now really rounded and im not able to get a grip on it with a socket wrench or a crescent. any tips or tricks of getting it off, without taking it to a mechanic.

get a new one, then get a set of nut/bolt extractors and never worry about this kind of situation again.

Or just buy a Fumoto draining valve for $25 and make oil change easier.

Vice grips wont grip it?? u should be able to grip it with that... if the plug is stripped who ever is changing your oil is puttin it on way to tight..

A pipe wrench worked the best on my wife's Dodge Caravan plug. As you turn the wrench it tightens up on the nut because of the wedge shape.

Seriously, why wouldn't you just go out and spend 20$ on a set of decent nut/bolt extractors and never have to actually worry about this problem, or any other related to stripped bolts and nuts, again.
