Any muffler shop should be able to fab one for you.

nope, the mid section is a whole, there are no flanges for the cat. therefore, it's a welding job.

They are not really supposed to do it but I just went to a muffler shop and the cut it out and welded a pipe.

I just took a big screwdriver and punched all of the baffling out of my second cat. And poof no cat.

^^^^ That's the easiest and cheapest way to do it.

My muffler shop said he wouldn't delete my second cat when it went bad. There was a $10,000 Federal Fine for doing that job, and that's just on him. The customer also risks fines upward of $4000 dollars. But, that's just what a shop tells you.

This same muffler shop sells racing cat's for about $169.00, though you may be able to find some cheaper on line somewhere. However, like what's already been said, it's a weld-on job, so you'd better have some money ($300 for everything, just a guestimation).

my advice is just fab one yourself and clamp it in. 1 7/8's piping. helped on cyphers car LONG ago, and did it with one of the resinators on another elantra (friend). works the same, but you have to be careful of hanging it right and exhaust leaks.
By the way, still never owned an XD, got a Mazda P5

The 10 grand fine is real for the muffler shop that gets caught doing it. It would be best to remove the primary cat and get a header, that way you'll be rid of that one and get more performance as well, the primary one is the most restrictive one to.
