    Default Valve Cover Torque specs?

I'm planning on installing my new valve cover this weekend and need to know what the how tight the screws that hold it down need to be.
Anyone know the Torque specs for the screws?
I tried searching, and couldnt find a difinitive answer.
I have a 2003 XD if that is relevant.

    Thanks ahead of time.

just do it to tight with a 3/8" rachet. the bolts are 10mm if i remember correctly. tighten them in a sequence so that the cover is flat on the head before tighten it down all the way. i'd stick the 10mm on an extension and tighten them all like that as best i can first then go thro and tighten them some more.

i say this because i know some valve covers can crack. i don't think the beta would but hey better save then sorry.

yes I have cracked my valve cover while over torquing with a FLIMSY little 1/4" ratchet.

I am looking into this aswell because I have a new cover coming from Korea in not too long.

I would STRONGLY recommend looking into a new gasket too, bro.

It's amazing how little some of this stuff needs to be tightened. It just needs to be a little snug. And since I've never heard of a torque wrench going down to 6 lb-ft, times it by 12 and you get 72 lb-in. So it would be better to use a inchpound torque wrench if you've got one.
