ok so i started my car to warm it up for work today...came back outside 10 minutes later and turned on my radio/deck/HU...it came on fine but the 7" screen came out on its own...the screen is black and will not go back into the deck...the audio still works and you can still touch the screen to change the song but the screen is totally black and will not go back inside the HU...i tried the reset on the deck and does nothing...what do you think guys!

^^^^^^^^^^you answered your own question right there. If you have a warranty for it or the receipt take it back get a refund and buy a better one.
I don't know anyone who bought a dual DVD player that didn't crap out on them in less than a year.

Give it a chance to warm up. I've had the LCD in head units stop displaying properly (animations don't work, etc) when they were very cold. Usually getting the car warm, then turning the system off/on again fixed that.

press the reset button on the face of the deck/dvd unit. this will reset the unit and will/should retract the screen.

Why would you have two fold out DVD players? Never mind I thought you had both in at the same time!

Yeah, your best bet is to cut your losses and buy a real deck. You can find those double din pioneer once with the nav for like 700 new if you look hard enough. And you get to get rid of that little, basically useless pocket! GO CLEAN INSTALL! And if you look around ebay, you can find the metra install kit for a d-d radio for the 'lantras, cleans up that little gap around it for like 15 bucks.

everytime i pass by the stereo section at stores, the dual decks are never working correctly or are always broken down.
if you want to buy on a budget on a 7" flip out dvd screen or in dash multimidia go with a jensen. they are cheap in price but way more reliable than dual.

Yeah warranty time. If that little hole with the reset doesnt do it its toast. Common problem is you get a really cold winter and it toasts those screeens. They are sensitive if temps get too low.

funny you say that because Dual and Jensen are made in the same manufacturing facilities.

    cause Jensen is garbage too.

just hit the reset button, or let the car thaw out. maby the lcd screen got messed up and needs to warm up a bit. does the screen even illuminate (like in stand-by), or the black screen of death.

hey, and props to you for having a screen in your car. i miss my old pioneer

I love sony decks. I've had my current one since March '05, before that I had another sony in my very first car and the elantra for a little bit before upgrading to the more expensive one.

Oh i know jensen sucks. pretty much rule of thumb, if its car audio and has chrome plastic on it, dont buy it.

And I had my pioneer d3 for 3 days. Took that POS back. Nav was horrible, touch screen was unresponsive, control layout was a joke. Ive never liked pioneer decks and im pretty sure thats the last one ill even try.

Ive had 2 alpine's, 2 pioneers and a panasonic and a sony. The Panasonic was a nice deck for the price, controls were a sinch, but Im sticking with alpine from here out. Wont touch a current sony or pioneer model with a stick anymore.
