    They were just at MCAS Miramar for the Battle Colors Ceremony. Just posting a few of the better pics I got if anyone is interested.

    they are beasts. i saw a special about the platoon on either the discovery channel or military channel, and they go through almost too much rehersal/training for it. btw, This M1 Rifles weigh about 11lbs. Real rifles, sharpened bayonnets.

    Meah its all practice, they just make it look really good. Hours of training with rubber bayonnets so you dont even think about the real one when its there. Just some FYI, you are not allowed to sharpen bayonnets even during combat...but thats not to say it doesnt happen. The ones used for the above drill movements are purely for drill, they are polished and have a dull roudned edge.

    When I was in JROTC in high school many years ago, and when I was in the service, I would say that my most memorable and favorite part of the whole thing was being on the drill team. I even remember most of the drills too, 10 years later. Thanks for these pics, they bring back memories.

    that was a sweet youtube video, 1 of my best friends is in the marines, i should ask him why he isn't on silent drill. USA!..USA!...U.S.A!
