    Cool New Toy v3.0

keltec pf-9. 7+1 capacity. <.90" wide...got it for 180$ with a box of 20 Winchester 147gr SXT hollowpoints, and a cheapo pocket holster...not bad seeing as theyre going for $250-$290 on gunbroker.com.

final pic w/ my M&P 9 compact. was already planning on taking a couple people from work shooting this saturday, so that will give me a chance to see if i like it.

Doesn't matter what brand/price/specs the gun is, if it doesn't feel right in your hand, it's garbage.

Part of the reason I love the Beretta 92 series, just feels perfectly comfortable in my hand and not all small and dinky like some.

This is another favorite for shooting comfort:

    S&W Model 66, .357 Magnum / .38 Special

Currently, the only gun I own is my Browning Hi-Power 9mm. I might be buying a Beretta before too long though.

^^I have a very similar .38 snub nose. Very comfortable to handle.

Anyone handled any of the Titanium S&W Revolvers? Holy cow, are those things light. The dealer had to warn me before picking it up that it was so light, because some people end up grabbing it with too much force and nearly throw it. Not made for putting a high load through them though, so not the ideal weapon to take to the range every weekend.

mike...if you're not dead-set on a revolver, check out the M&P series. i cant reccomend them enough. the glocks and my hand never really agreed, but the M&P is amazing.

the DAO trigger on the keltec is the wierd part...being used to SA and a much shorter trigger is way different. the gun fits my hand fine, its just the trigger is odd. ill find out saturday how much it bothers me. lol

I'm pretty sure if I go with an automatic, I'd get the Beretta 92fs. Pistol with the night-sights, 2 clips, case $599.

If I went with a model 66 revolver (pictured in my earlier post), it's going to have to be used, as they don't make the model 66 anymore. You can find most used 66s in the $300-$350 range.

I have shot glock, and beretta , but the sig sauer p226 tops them all.

When you really need to make some noise try a Magnum Research BFR. A friend of mine has one that is I think a 460. Christ that thing has recoil...

    And a comparison...

    "biggest finest" or "big fu**ing"?

lol. i remember when i was like 16, helping my great uncle and grandpa move a pretty good size rock (~300lbs) away from his pond...when we dropped it, he goes, "that was one BFR"...my grandpa shakes his head..."yep"...i shake my head "yep"...they both look at me, my grandpa's like "you even know what BFR is?", to which i replied, "i dont know what you're thinking, but i know that was one big ****in rock"

i got the best grin from my grandpa ive ever seen.

I considered the p226 (my bro's got one) but the bacon station I was considering joining carried the glock so I got the glock. Yeah, I was considering being a cop at one time.. Anyway, I got the firearm the department carried, but then later changed my mind about being a cop. The Sig is more balanced in your hand for sure since it doesn't have the akward balance issue the half composite glock does. But once you get use to it, its the dogs balls. It's never jammed on me even after putting 200 rounds through it in one session. The ruger jammed twice after about 200 rounds. The HK 45 in nice as well as the Taurus. Sh!t, I like 'em all I think. I carried a model 66 as my sidearm. Guess how many times it jammed, lol. That's why I like revolvers for presonal protection, there's never any question as to whether or not it's going to fire. At the range though, automatics are defintely fun.

The worst for jamming I've ever dealt with is the Bushmaster XM15E2S. I'm glad I also carried the model 66, becuase chances were probably 1 in 4 that the Mushmaster wasn't going to fire. Great fun to shoot, but man was it annoying continuously clearing jams.

I have a question. What's the point? Are you a cop, do you go hunting, do you just like practice shooting or something else? Or just for safety? Have you ever been really angry and shot the c rap out off a pillow like analyze this? Just wondering.

Did you not read the thread?

He has it both for shooting targets and also for protection. I don't think ANYONE would buy a gun ''just because''. I mean, they ARE expensive.
