Does anyone have issues when the tranny is cold, down shifting into 2nd and then first? By cold I mean sitting over night in 70 degree weather. For some reason I really have to jam it into 2nd even at 15MPH with the clutch fully pressed. 1st is even worse, it really takes unusual effort to put it back in 1st even at ~5MPH. When it's been driven about 3 miles, it does just fine and everything goes smoothly using the same technique. I usually don't downshift to 1st, but rather just hold it there until it "falls" into gear. (We really don't actually stop at stop signs here in Cali ) Oh well, let me know what you guys think.
sometimes in second i get a "shudder" when downshifting...even when the clutch is fully pressed and i have double clutched and rev matched. getting into first is also a PITA..and i usually only try to go into 1st if i am doing 5 or under. i can usually feel it and hear it, which i dont like. by this i mean that when i shift into 1st i can hear it go into gear from under the car as well as feel it. i kind of fear for the trans. hopefully it will get better over time and with a full syn. fluid.

Yeah they shudder while driving in 1st and 2nd as well... not the smoothest drive sometimes.

I too can hear 1st gear. Makes me worried, but luckily, I was able to get a full bumper-bumper warranty for the whole 10yr-100Kmi. thrown into the deal when I bought my car.

1st gear in any car makes a noise, kinda like a ringing, if you shift into first to early you're gonna hear a thump.

Remember cars tend to make noise as the engine reconnects with the transmission, ignore it unless you hear a horrible grinding noise... then take it to the dealer.

Ok still getting antsy about the 1st gear thing. It happens basically everyday even after being warm. Same stop light every day on my way to work just after exiting the highway. Ill come up to it (its ALWAYS red!!!) slow down and just as i am about to stop completely I'll attempt to engange first and then "thud" "noise" etc and im into first. I am going from nuetral to first. should i go second to frist? would that help? or should i just be in second while i "stop" at the light and use second? would that lug the engine too much? Sorry, this is just really bothering me as I do not recal my last two cars doing anything like this.
