I cannot believe we removed 2 engines/trans, reinstalled one and it runs. That's right. RUNS. Here's the vid:

CAUTION!!!! Turn down your speakers. It hurts your ears. Miata's? Quiet.

    http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y17...ftParty069.flv

OK, things to do: Fix massive coolant leak at the transfer pipe, fix non-idle issue, top off trans fluid, PUT ON AN EXHAUST, install Koni's, front control arms, rear sway bar and brakes. . .. Not bad for the time left!

Is that thing even carbureted??? Daaamn. Glad it runs... I was expecting like 8 more threads on how this turd refused to run, despite how loud you yelled at it.

Very cool little cars. They are hard to come by nowadays. A friend had one back a few years ago and it reminded me of a Honda. But those Swift's dominate at the auto-x locally.

Last time I talked to him (~6 months ago) he still had 4-5 cars, only two running and the others were for parts.

Ok, it idles great now. Forgot to cap an extraneous vacuum port and sealed the fast idle valve deal on the back side. Installed the 15's. 15x6.5 and a +35mm offset are a perfect fit. Tight, but perfect. THe fronts only rub at full lock. the rears clear the inner structure with about 1/2" to spare. It's tight.

And a gratuitous engine shot. . I'm proud of how it looks!

Lol... With it rubbing at full lock, I'd love to see an out-of-car cam... the smoke must be awesome coming off that rubber. BTW whatever happened to washing cars before pics are taken? Looks like you got that thing from a Desert Sheik.

It's been 20* outside for highs (-19 one morning), not running and not liscened/titled. Exactly HOW am I supposed to wash it? It was trailered home on an open trailer during a frigging blizzard in Chicago. It's going to be dirty until it warms up.

As for tire rub, if you're rubbing at full lock on course, tire rub is going to be the LAST thing you're worried about, because you done screwed the pooch and better have both feet in bringing it to a stop.

Looks great Bob! That engine looks clean enough to eat off of. I can see why you are proud of it.
