    Question Wax on GLS Moldings

Ok I read the thread about wax on the GT moldings, but what about for the GLS. I used that Nu Finish wax/polish once and left these wax stains from the side moldings to the trunk badges. It's been a year and I tried the eraser trick but takes long. But is the advice for the GT on removing this stuff the same? If not, what can I use? Thanks.

    peanut oil.

    end of story.

im sure ive posted this numerous times over the past 6 years. pour some peanut oil on a towel/microfiber, and wipe it clean. the peanut oil REMOVES!!!! not covers up the wax residue. this will FULLY remove any residue left over.

he also told me peanut butter works if you dont have peanut oil. i used peanut butter on that plastic area under the wipers. works great. youl have a dark spot where the trimming looks wet, or rather, blacker. as it gets washed off thatl go away, and itl go back to looking to its normal worn color.

Alright, thanks and I'll make sure to do that. FYI the side moldings aren't black but the same as the factory paint.

my bad, i thought you were talking about trim/unpainted mouldings. post a pic of what your talking about. wax residue normally comes off wiht wiping it wiht a microfiber. i dont understand "wax stains". ive never encountered a wax stain in the 12+ years ive been an auto detailer.

you can try a polish. this has mild abrasives in it to clean and remove some paint containaments. also, a clay bar might work. if its still there you will need to use a light compound. if its still there your going to need to "wheel-out" the effected area with a high speed DA sander/polisher wiht a pad. but if you have never wheeled out paint, DONT DO IT!!!!!!!! you'll burn the paint if you have no idea what to do. you can also try lacquer thinner. use a microfiber and wet the towel w/lacquer(not damp, WET!!!!!), and wipe it clean. this should remove the problem. again, if your not carefull, you WILL remove the paint then your F'd.

Peanut oil worked really well for me on my '07 Sonata. Also got that white glaze from NuFinish - the only car wax I've been using for 30+ yrs on the black trim around the door, windows and front grill. Then I ran it through a 'gentle' car wash and it's 'still' gone. So peanut oil!
