    Default 25mm spacers...too wide? pics

well i test fitted the 25mm spacers in the rear ( i installed the rear 5 lug hubs and bolted up the tib rim).

here is what it looked like before hand. then after.

and i have tons of space from the tire to strut...so putting a considerable amount of negative camber will not be an issue (if need be in the future)
this is with a 215/45 r 17....i will be going with a 215/40 in the future btw...i'm in the hatch jumping up and down and the second test was trying to push it side to side...but those that know its really hard to move it.

vid clip of my bouncing the *** and tring to see if everything clears...looks like it will

If i filled my gas tank with half Shell with V-Power, and the other half with Chevron with Techron gas...does that mean that my gas is V-TEC?

You think 25mm will affect them that much?

the tib guys have been running these for years....nobody has ever complained about bearing issues.

and these are totally hub centric

the front i have to wait to see as the hubs have to be pressed into the hub...

btw tib rims are the sex!!!

they 're are 15mm spacers too that are bolt on/hubcentric. then i guess if i ever wanted to go with a 225 i would have room for it.

I see that and think of the mexican/latino style of 13's pushed way out wide, clear outside th body. If itwas all tire up to the strut (like a 245) it might be ok. But as is? No, looks silly.

My thoughts Derek: I don't know...

On the one hand, I love the look of the Tib wheel, and it looks great on the hatch. I really think that a 25mm spacer is a bit too much. Maybe if the wheel were dished, or even just a 2" machined lip, the look would be better.

Would like to see the completed project, side shots, etc. with the conversion complete, and the 25mm in the back. You are NOT adding ones to the front, correct? Or are you going 10 or 15 up front?

It's a fwd car. What reason could you possibly have for wanting to push the wheel out another inch in the REAR? Get a better wheel with a better offset, instead of playing with spacers. That's my thoughts.

Since he installed the Ingalls arms, he can get pretty crazy with the negative camber, though hopefully only for track purposes. In order to accomplish that, you have two choices:

    1) Spend $4 to $6k on four wheels for the custom fit: wider wheel, more aggressive offset to accomplish more aggressive negative camber, etc.

    Or

    2) Spend $100 on spacers that achieve the same thing and you retain your wheels.

Again though, I'm not sure what Derek's uses of the car will be. Given the admission of a lack of funds, track time is unlikely. So, an aggressive set of spacers like these 25s are a bit too much. Every day street use, with a cleaner wheel/fender gap, and a little bit wider stance, a 15mm is all that would be necessary.

you don't need that much negative camber in the REAR on a FWD car. Front, yes. Rear, no.

I can find plenty of wheels with better offsets without spending 4-6 grand. ESPECIALLY, since now he has a 5x114.3 bolt pattern!

^ Yeppers.... every honda 5-bolt has a ton of options. Shoot, I probably have wheels on my shelf that will fit better.

Oh, I agree Bob, and wouldn't dispute...except in terms of road racing. Granted, the negative in the rear is not as extreme as the front, but the tires are fairly wide. Contact with the spring perch is inevitable if either the wheel is change for a different offset or spacers are added.

With the current tire, not even a 15mm is necessary...but it would look far better with the 15 than this 25.
