Yeah, Krafcik said about 8 in 1000 of them won't have the "preferred package" so I don't think you have to worry about finding one that has AC.

Appears you cant get a sunroof on the GLS anymore , that sucks. Means no manual trans with sunroof.... also, no premium package, so no navigation/premium audio either..

I want an GT type trim. Leather seats, manual, sunroof, alloy wheels. Seriously considering this as my next new car, would suck if the m/t option misses out on all the stuff i actually care about.

sucks Grey is a M/T color only. I guess I will be staying with Silver. James, I'll wait till I see the beige in person before I say anything, online it looks like nice color.

Black, Red Allure, Blue Sky Metallic, and Titanium Gray Metallic are only available on the M/T GLS. They are all available on A/T Limited Elantras, however.

Oh well. Maybe ill consider a Forte instead. Hard choice between the 2.4l and 174hp or the 40mpg of the 1.8, which has got to be underrated considering i get that much with the XD2.

even on my 06 i had a hell of time just finding a color i liked and MT.
one dealership had like 150 cars and only 1 MT. another had over 100 and had 2 MT.
i ended up finding one online and have it sent from one dealer to another (same parent dealer, different location). so i could get it.

when i was at the service place last week i was tlaking to the sales droid about the new ones and he said the MTs are just getting rarer and rarer as they just arent selling in the city

wow that is beat, only one optional package with the MT and its pretty much a required one lol. cruise and ac :P

what is "solar glass"?

Solar glass is the thermal resistant glass that doesn't allow heat in. Go to to a home depot or something, they usually have a display with a heat lamp on one side, then a regular pane of glass and a piece of solar glass.

Weird that they have more paint colors for the m/t vs the auto, but there arent many m/ts, so looks like most elantras will be white/silver.

wonder if the forte will end up with the new (Nu?) motor eventually.

I have spoken to two dealers about the red Elantra and am getting conflicting reports.
I want a red elantra Limited with premium package, nav, A/T.

One dealer telsl me they have never, and will never make ANY Elantras in red, and cant understand why it's advertised as an option on their website and ads.

Another tells me they HAVE made Elantras in red, and I can preorder one and as soon as production rampes up, I'll get it.

The first dealer tells me I can NOT preorder a car.
I'll even settle for the GLS with a Nav unit and have a sunroof installed myself.

I'm confused.
I just wanna by a car.
How hard could this be?

Um.. Run away from the first dealer who told you they've never and will never make a red elantra. He's an idiot. Heck, the elantra they show on hyundai's website is red...

The car's only been out a month or so. Gonna be a while before all options and color packages are readily available. If you really want answers, call the source - (800) 633-5151 that's hyundai's customer service line. I bet they'll be able to tell you when and where you'll be able to get what you want.

Others have reported that the red ones in the package you want will be available any time now. But yeah, do what Tommy said and give them a call too.

It's too bad that sometimes salespeople at dealerships don't know as much as they should.
