    Default which brake set up??

okay....i would really like to get the red alum tib calipers and sonota rotors...but i'm running short on cash....

my choices are then....the normal tib upgrade

    or

    kvr rotors and pads?

does the inch of rotor make that much a difference over the drilled rotors?

Yes it does. I've done some comparisons between a couple of different cars (1 Accord and 1 Eclipse) that have stock-sized cross-drilled & slotted rotors, pads, and steel-braided brake lines, and the before & after improvement doesn't match the improvement I got with the Tiburon upgrade with stock components. Add onto that some performance pads and there should be no comparison. But it is a pricey upgrade especially if you get the aluminum calipers... too bad Jay doesn't sell online anymore.

Drilled just aids in cooling and in cleaning the pads. A larger rotor will have more area to clamp down on. Thats the bigger brake advantage. I have 13 inch rotors and there is no comparison.

oh....i wonder how much that cost!...??

i wonder if i could get the kvr for the sonota....does anybody know how big they are??? are they the 11"? and then just get pads and calipers for the tib....instead of using the stock rotors which will probably cost the same if not more!!

When your rotors are that huge, lets say you have a flat on that tire. Do you pretty much have to get a tow? I can't see anyone lugging around a spare 17" inch rim. Do you guys think AAA would cover a tow like that?

I have two cans of SUV fix-a-flat. That and triple A.

One thing you might have to check is if the spindles and the caliper brackets are the same for the sonata and the elantra. otherwise youll need an adapter.

I think that Wilwood setup retails for about $1300 right now.

the 2004 sonata with abs uses 11 inch rotors with the same 4 lug pattern as the XD..

Since I have them on my car, I know it will fit.

You will need a pair of metal shears to trim the stock rotor dust cover and thats it : )

the 2003 gt v6 tiburon calipers are a direct swap.. dont forget to buy 4 new crush washers for the brake lines and 1 can of brake fluid .. (small can will work)

I still have my Tib calipers sitting somewhere in the garage. I wish I had the time to put some of these mods on.
