    Default radio bracket

Today i was trying to fix a problem with my radio, but when i went to unscrew it the hole the screw goes into came off from the dash. So now the radio doesnt sit right. Is there any way to fix it?

The hole that the screw goes into is a clip that is inserted into the dash on both sides of the radio. Is this the one you are referring to? Or do you mean the bracket that the radio screws directly to, then that is screwed to the dash?

Yes, picture would help a lot.

sorry cant get a pic right now as its night time, but i get one tomorrow. The bracket for the radio is fine, I'm talking about the bracket thats connected to the dash itself that you screw the radio bracket into

Heres a sample pic of what im talking about. The purple box

so wait, your saying you dropped the screw and now it sits crooked?
well of course it does, you need that screw there..
id pull another screw and take it to a hardware store or somewhere and just get a close enough match.

sorry if your asking something else, but thats all im understanding heh

    ahhh i c.
i duno what else you can do other than replace that bracket, the only way i can see of doing that would be making something.
Or you could go the "easy" route and just get some kind of adhesive to hold it in place. like gorilla tape, I watched a friend attach the head of a busted 20lb sledge with that stuff, and it worked..

here are some pics, hope you can see what im talking about. I'm not talking about the screw or the bracket on the radio, i am talking about the hole that you have to screw the radio bracket into.

If you are missing the hole, you are going to need to recreate the hole to make it fit.

Without really seeing the damage (pics are hard to see), here is what I would do.

Go to Ace Hardware and get a small piece of this stuff:

Use some snips to cut it small enough to fit the area you need. Screw one hole into the existing non-broken mounting area. Then you will have the other holes in the angle bracket to use for mounting the radio bracket. You may need to drill extra/different holes if they do not line up where you need them. You may also need a different screw, depending on the size of the stuff you get.

Ah so you are saying the hole isn't a hole anymore and therefore you can't screw anything into it?

If the screw is not staying. As spinning like it's stripped. You will need to replace the silver metal clip that is in the dash. It slides out really easy. The dealer can get you these. They are cheap.

ahh. so you mean that entire right side of the plastic base thing just pushed in huh.. not really sure what you can do honestly. that thing is like IN there.
if it pushed in, can you pull it out? from the pic im thinking no you cant.. but if you can maybe glue or gorilla tape. but im thinking that piece wont come out..
maybe rip or bust the whole thing out and figure out a new mount you can make attaching to something inside the dash and reaching out where you need?

No the enitre plastic part is broken. Thats what he is saying, gorilla glue that biznatch. Put some on both pieces then tape it together. Come back in about 4 hours and cut away the excess and you should be good

okay guys, lets see if i can explain this better. In the picture where the screw is, that part has been pushed backed towards the hood of the car. so the left side of the radio sticks out more then the right side. So what do I have to do to hold the bracket back up again, gorilla glue?

The white plastic ripped away, get a bigger screw to go in that hole, or gorilla glue it. The glue route would probably be easier, but you would need to have a way to hold the head unit in exactly the right spot you want it in.

My question is can gorilla glue become pliable when it gets hot? If TX is anything like FL I know the heat can turn practically any glue into a mess in the car.
