Default 2004 Elantra Check Engine Light HELP

Hello. I had the alternator go out the other day, and after limping it home with lack of power, I replaced the alternator. Now the check engine light is on. Is this due to the alt. problem, or is this something new? Can I rest the engine light? Any help would be appreciated, as I am just a novice mechanic. Thank you in advance.

    Welcome to EXD.

Have Advance Auto or a similar place read the code for you (it's free). Then we'll be able to provide some more insight perhaps.

Better yet get a cheap code reader on eBay...As long as it can read/reset codes it'll come in handy. I upgraded to the Matco w/ live values for tuning purposes, but I believe I got one on eBay for $60. It's worth it.
