Magic is my man for the install lol
Magic is my man for the install lol
I would not cause it was already on the built motor when I purchased it. I can ask the guy I bought it from but don't hold your breath lol
Haha no worries. I think I'm going to go into the head in the middle, slightly above the header. There is a screw hole there that I have seen a few people feed from.
Good news: clamp and adapter came in today
Bad news: clamp is to small, Ganna need a 3inch instead of a 2.5
Lol that sucks
Yeah I'm Ganna post on vadriven to see if anyone wants to trade
This is happening next weekend (weekend of the 21st). I am going to get the downpipe fabricated, and get the oil return bung punched in the oil pan and grab some feed lines and fittings from there.
Ordered the correct clamp for the turbo and i pray that it gets in before next weekend. If it doesnt, we will just do as much of the install as I we can and then I will just leave it parked until that last part comes in.
Thanks to magicmayo for helping me out with this project.
bummer to read about magics ride
but maybe you can score some of his parts if he buys back from the insurance co.
totally awesome to see this moving forward.
and to this day, i still snicker every single time i read the word "bung" lol. also "o ring". ahh, i guess ill never really grow up
He's letting me get his fuel pump and another goodie or two that I will share with you all in a few months :p
Well that other goodie will be his engine.
Yay for built engine + turbo going in this weekend! That is if I can get this downpipe made :/
You lucked out bro!
I got very lucky
So much props go to Magic Mayo, not just for selling me the engine, but doing the engine swap and turbo install and just helping me out through the whole process.
No problem man, glad to help...which reminds me...you have a decent clutch in your car already?
Decent.... Stage 1 clutch, ill probably upgrade to a stage 2 before too much longer
sweet progress bro! Can't wait to see your car boosted! Props on getting your hands on a built motor! That means you can really "up" the boost!!
December 2009 COTM: //www.elantraxd.com/cotm/dec09.php
Thats what happens when you leave for a while! People start turboing their cars!
Things are looking better and better for the install this weekend, having to run around like a mad man to get the last few parts but it will all be good.

I love seeing DSM parts on here... I feel right at home.
Btw, nice o2 housing. I had the same before I went dumped on my 50 trim. For my recirculated one, I had to get some porting done to it, as some of the material where the wastegate tube meets back into the exhaust path after the o2 sensor. Just double check to make sure all is well before bolting it up!
hopefully you can get the rest of that downpipe made before you come over...would be nice so once we get everything in we can jump right into tuning it
I think what I am going to do is get an exhaust pipe that just dumps under the car so that we can tune it at the house and then i can drive it up there later or even the next day.
2liter, you would not believe the hell I have been through to try to get the dsm flange to attach to the T25 flange . . . the adapter i bought is crap and doesnt work. No one will weld it because it is cast iron and they either dont have welders hot enough or they dont want to weld it because the dont think it is the same grade of cast iron.
Ive had to end up getting a local machine shop to make something like this and is costing me $200 http://www.ebay.com/itm/T3-DSM-ADAPT...#ht_3972wt_948
