    Default Tiwtin's '05 Elantra

This is my 2005 Hyundai Elantra.

    Interior:
Pioneer Bluetooth Stereo w/ Mic on dash (Gotta be safe!)
    12" Lightning Audio Subwoofer
260 Watt Amp (Don't know manufacturer)

    Performance:
    K&N Apollo Enclosed CAI
Custom 2.25" Catback with Borla ProXS

    Exterior:
    8000K HID Low Beams

I haven't done much to the car yet, but I really want to do more!

    Looks good! Welcome to EXD.

What about specifics? Buy it new/used? Miles? All that good stuff?

Oh right! Specifics! I bought it used about a year ago. Cost me a good 5999 (even though they were wanting 8999) and it now has 97k miles on it!

Sadly, though, it has a large scrape on the rear passanger door and a small wavy sort of damage on the quarter panel that goes with it. It was like that when the dealership sold it to me, and I haven't had the money to fix it. It'll require a new quarter panel and door to fix the damage, as it is so large it can't be buffed out and hammered out and still look clean.

My next mod that I plan on doing is fixing up the intake to have a clean elbow on the intake manifold instead of the stock one. I also plan on getting a new exhaust, whether it be a muffler or cat back.

It's also a nice day, so I may go take some more pictures! I was planning on debadging it this morning, but I don't know if I have any adhesive remover, or the money to get some haha

googone works great for it. you might see some outlining and fade of the badges left on the paint. just takes a good scrubbing with car soap and then a waxing and you should be good. what are you planning on replacing it with? i got avanteXD on mine.

I just finished the debadging! It took me about an hour but it finally came off. I am going to find my wax and soap to clean it up a bit to make the outlines go away though. I plan on just leaving it a blank back, and then replacing the H with the GT oval. Pics up!

What are the overall plans for this car? Project car/daily driver?

Try the home depot lip O:

It's my DD. If I get into the military, it will be my project car that I will work on when I'm not working.

I plan on lowering the car a bit, putting on a turbo, fixing the rear passenger door and quarter panel, and body kit.

Sounds really cool, check out the M&S lip kit while your at it, it looks pretty sick.

    Going shock/spring or coilovers?

I haven't decided yet. I'll look at whichever ones give the best handling in corners while still being able to drive it comfortably. Also, I thought about the body kit, decided against it. I forgot I wanted to keep the car as sleeper as possible.

Spring/Strut is usually cheaper, but not adjustable.
You just need to buy the springs and struts that you are comfortable with.

Coilovers tend to cost more, but are adjustable.

I am going the spring/strut route, getting some KYB's when I can afford them, and already have some springs sitting on my floor. Also got an 18mm tibby sway bar installed a while ago.

Look at the evofusion catback, it looks pretty sleeper and sounds amazing. I got all of my stuff from snooze for a great deal, and thats the exhaust on his car and it sounded amazing.

Oh yeah, as for the springs and struts, I decided to get coil over sleeves and KYB gr2's for it. They are as cheap as lowering springs and have adjustable ride height.
A little bit on the stiff side, and I bottom out a lot and rub because I am so low, but it's a great investment if you like adjustability and cost.

I'm using Cosmo coil sleeves on KYB excel G's.

They work great, but I need to cut the bump stops down.

The only problem with my car's looks... It has a GIANT scrape on the back right... Which is why I keep the pictures of the left side haha
