Default Head work, now car will not start

Hello all, its been a while. Been very busy to do anything with the car lately. I've finally got some time to work on it.
    A little back ground.
I have a 2002 Hyundai accent with a 2.0 2003 elantra motor. I have to put the motor to replace/check timing belt and mainly to have any access to those pulleys. With that said, i had to pull the motor to do some head work.
    This is what I did:
    Port and polish head.
    Replaced valve guide seals.
    Head resurfaced.
    PnP on intake mani.
I rebuilt the head and timed it according HMA.
All sensors were removed during the PnP process.

I did do a compression check, seems a little low I think it should be around ~120 psi
    cyc 4 & 2 = 30 psi
    cyc 3 & 1 = 60 psi.

Noticed a little oil leaking from where the head mates to the block, right below exhaust ports for cyc 3 & 2. Maybe i got a bad head gasket?
All gaskets/seals are new. Bought a head rebuild kit.
The car ran just fine before i removed the engine and did this work.
Checked time and it all looks good.
Just want to bounce some ideal/thought/comments off anyone willing to read.

Wow that is quite some work into that head.

If you cannot find out what is wrong with it after the head gasket I would suggest checking the valves/valve seats by turning the head upside down and filling it with gasoline and see if it starts to leak.

Maybe something got damaged in the process of modifying the head.

I wish I had the cash to have all of that done on my car.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Need to ask if they will honor a bad head gasket from the parts store. When I have the head off I can go ahead and try the gas deal.

When you take the head off, check if it's warped. The parts store may ask you about it.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I had the head resurfaced, if it was warped, it should of been taken care of.

I don't know if you change your cams but if you haven't your compression should be around 200psi+ per cylinder. Mine was 220 when stock. You may have problems with a bent valve, seat or timing.

I got the low compression figured out. Valve lapping needed some love. Compression is great now. I have been having a problem with the head not sealing to the block. Leaking oil in front by the exhaust. Got my second head gasket from rock auto and this one leaks too!!! I went out and got one from the dealer. I mounted the head to the block. Went to install the cams, and the intake cam broke. Anyone have a cam or two laying around?

I broke the on an accident, wasn't paying attention. I was watching my son play with his car and not watching what i was doing. This motor has thrown me a couple of curve balls, starting to piss me off!!!

all I can tell you is to stick in there.

So many problems, so little patience is what usually causes many people to give up. Hang in there, with a proper tune you should really be pushing out some nice figures for na.

Im unsure of what model of elantra that my motor came out of. When looking for parts they want manufacture date ex 11/02. Is there a stamp or marking on the motor?

Does it have variable valve timing? If it does, its 04+ if it doesn't its 01-04
