Hello all, its been a while. Been very busy to do anything with the car lately. I've finally got some time to work on it.
A little back ground.
I have a 2002 Hyundai accent with a 2.0 2003 elantra motor. I have to put the motor to replace/check timing belt and mainly to have any access to those pulleys. With that said, i had to pull the motor to do some head work.
This is what I did:
Port and polish head.
Replaced valve guide seals.
Head resurfaced.
PnP on intake mani.
I rebuilt the head and timed it according HMA.
All sensors were removed during the PnP process.
I did do a compression check, seems a little low I think it should be around ~120 psi
cyc 4 & 2 = 30 psi
cyc 3 & 1 = 60 psi.
Noticed a little oil leaking from where the head mates to the block, right below exhaust ports for cyc 3 & 2. Maybe i got a bad head gasket?
All gaskets/seals are new. Bought a head rebuild kit.
The car ran just fine before i removed the engine and did this work.
Checked time and it all looks good.
Just want to bounce some ideal/thought/comments off anyone willing to read.
