Sorry, socialism does not have anything to do with the rich taking cuts to increase the economy.
If making a socialist government would be the case, it would start with excessively high taxes for the rich and a government who uses these taxes to use this money to grow and shelter the poor. From how I understand Socialism and marxist communism is that once that happens the rich become the poor and the poor stay the poor. When everyone is at a similar economic level, the government would have power over everyone. This power though would require tons of money, which always leads to a collapse of government.
I kind of look at the situation of the growing government now and compare it to socialism. It seems like the government is beginning to spread the wealth and looks like it may grow exponentially if something does not change.
Actually if the rich took cuts in spending it would most likely hurt the economy, we want the rich to invest in capitalism by spending their own money.
In turn the money spent by the rich would end up in the pockets of companies who pay employees who make the product.
The people need to be encouraged to spend the money that they have and not to spend money that they do not have. The government also needs to take many cuts in their social programs like unemployment, disability, and medicaid. Not social security and medicare. Social security is something you pay into your whole life, and I see it as an incentive to hold a job, and medicare would be there if I were to grow old and not have health insurance.
I still believe that 30 years is way too long to fix this, if people get their heads out of their asses and start working together this could be straightened out within the next ten years. (Then again when was the last time that politicians actually did something for the good of the country and not out of personal agenda?)
Man, I hate political parties, it reminds me of my ex hogging all of the blankets when its cold at night, then I would pull them back. Political parties need to spoon and share the blanket.
I believe that this article has been very informative and easy to understand. Thanks for posting it.
Sorry for my rant, I love talking about politics, even if I do not fully understand them.
They ran over my car, quite literally.
