For what?....I know you need a few(around 12) grand for it and the kit to put it in a Focus.

ooooh sorry . . . lol its for my truck(see signature) its a 1986 Ford F250 with a 5.0L v8 in it that was put in in 91. thinking about getting a brand new one put in. these guys manufacture them new and 325hp would be nice

Why not a 351? Put GT40 heads and a little larger cam. Did that to a friends 88 Fox body.

i would love a 351 . . . i was thinking about it . . . theres no real reason not to i guess . . not even if its a few hundred bucks more . . . but . . . i dont know, i guess i picked that one at first to be close to stock . . but i guess the whole idea is to "soup it up"(spelling?) right? hell . . a big block would fit . . but too tight lol

i heard RV cams would be good (im just starting to get into the whole truck thing)

What kind of shape is your OEM 302 in? Those ford small blocks last damn near forever and for what the crate motor would cost you, you could do all sorts of things to the engine you already have. The 351 has just as much potential and aftermarket support as the 302 plus more potential torque output though. I say a blown 351 and go chase down Lightning owners LOL

hehehe that would be sweet as balls! . . . not that balls are sweet . . . well you know what i mean lol

anyway, yo know slvr, you bring up a great point! why in the world WOULD i get a crate or even aturn key engine if ive got a decent 302 now, i could easily spend that same amount of money and make it a beast. i could do a simple tune up to start(myself) and eventually get it rebuilt! sweet! thanks dude! you've made up my mind!

A set of 2.02 intake 1.60 exhaust valve heads from Jegs, maybe a GT40 intake manifold. RV cams are meant more for low end grunt than high end horsepower as far as I know. Course it is a truck so the more low end you have the better. Later on go high compression and add one of the plate type 250 HP nitrous kits.......Dammit now I want an old Ford truck!
