: What do you do???

I got nothing, admittedly, but this is an easy one everyone should be able to answer.

So, what do you do?

I break things, then see how well they work after they're broken.

02-18-2007, 09:55 PM
no option fit me.

i am a delivery driver for a plumbing supply house. i work about 60 hours a week there.

then i work part time at a local performance shop. were the #1 builder of syclones and typhoons in existance. thats our claim to fame. but lately have been doing other vehicles alot more. were also the shop that does all the test installs for a local company called AUTO METER. we do the installs on newer vehicles for them, then make remarks on the install. and if you call with a problem to autometer on your install, they will actually reference our notes from our install.

then i work part time working on cars out of my garage and such. make a bit of side cash that way to try to keep up on bills, and every once in awhile buy something new for one of my cars.

02-18-2007, 10:00 PM
lol...here is mine. I work 40hrs a week every other week and then 36 hrs in between those weeks. I just picked the 40hrs a week.

02-18-2007, 10:09 PM
I go to school full time and than balance a couple of different jobs here at school, as well as one at home I go to every other weekend...

02-18-2007, 10:10 PM
i work mon/tues 12-9 w/ a 1 hour lunch, wed-fri 8-5 w/ 1 hour lunch, and have 2 sats OFF a month...meaning if theres 5 saturdays, i work 3, if theres 4 i work 2...saturdays are 8-noon, but if we have 3, the 3rd is 8-430...good thing is the time we work on saturday, we can take it off during the following week...sounds a bit confusing but being that its a fairly set schedule, i like it

02-18-2007, 10:42 PM
I'm a Blends Technition at BVA Oils, work 40 hours and sometimes more if I feel like working on the weekends. Basically industrial oil for large compressor motors things of that sort and whatever else the customer asks for and yes we do A thing for cars and thats for the A/C units. Put the stuff in and it'll let you find leaks along with just being the normal oil that should be in there or whatever it is. All i know is I just follow the formulas and to the tests to make sure it turns out how it should.

02-18-2007, 10:44 PM

02-18-2007, 11:45 PM
I work as many hours as I need to, it's always varied but since I'm my own boss I guess on always on the clock.

Oh yeah, I'm a mortgage broker up in Canada land.

Thats the closest to me, school part time and 2 jobs, 1st job fr-mon night, School tues+thrus and 2nd job whenever I can inbetwixed.

02-19-2007, 05:11 AM
I take off when I feel like it but a typical work week is about 37-38 hours. I think I have put in over 40 hours two or three times in the past 10-12 years.

02-19-2007, 06:49 AM
I don't see an option for work full time 40HR ,part time 8-12HR, plus school. I can't vote

02-19-2007, 07:32 AM
Well the last few weeks have been pretty slow - about 55-60 hours. I feel like I am slacking, normally it would be 75+ hours a week.

02-19-2007, 09:05 AM
work 40hr a week.. and going to start school soon :-D

02-19-2007, 09:43 AM
M-F 8:30-5:00. Which comes out to be an 8.5 hour day, but I have an hour for lunch, so my "work time" would only be 7.5 hours. They pay us for 8 hours. Not quite sure how that all works out, but whatever. I get paid for 40 hours a week, am there for 42.5, but work 37.5.

Well, 37.5 - EXD time = ~4 hours per week. haha.

02-19-2007, 09:55 AM
45-50 Hours/week.

02-19-2007, 10:20 AM
part time, usually 20 hours a week...it sucks, but nobody is buying any electronics right now. I can't get another job though because I'm moving 6 hours away in 6 weeks, so I'm using the extra time to check up on here, while I pack up the apartment ready to move. Luckily, we've paid this months rent, and next months was the deposit, so it's just down to the small other bills that I have.

02-19-2007, 10:59 AM

I run the sprint store. I'm open 56 hours a week. Nobody else works here. Regular Salesman Drone Extraordinaire.

02-19-2007, 01:19 PM
Full time 40+. All depends on how often the boss is out doing charity work. If I work extra during a week because he's gone though, I get the extra time off the following week. So, as a chef, I have truely found a fair job as far as hours in a work week (42 avg.)

02-19-2007, 02:29 PM
I'm a supervisor at a local dairy plant. I work from 40 to 60 hours a week, depending on what breaks that week.
My old job was 55 hours/week minimum, 6 days a week minimum, and during busy times 7 days a week for 2-4 months at a time. I miss those checks, lol, but not working that much.

05-02-2007, 09:17 AM

Well, I spent the last 4 years (prior to this past year) being an industrial insulator. I ran jobs after earning the position. I work for my dad, but he is the type to be twice as hard as opposed to twice as nice. When My lungs collapsed for the 3rd time, he moved me into the office to do estimating and project managment. But the estimating isn't working out to be my thing (im a field guy at heart) and the other PM's are trying feverishly to get me fired anyways. everyone hates me just because...which is BS because they know I am not spoiled. Maybe they think that makes me an easier target.
I like the PM stuff, but I suck at estmimating because I get the drawings all mixed up. Being Bipolar has caused a few learning problems as well.
But I make a whole lot of money for the BS i deal with, so it works out i guess. If anyone in the pittsburgh region needs a decent paying constuction oriented job, please PM me. We have exploded and need good people badly.
If you are union oriented, don't bother. No offense but you would be barking up the wrong tree.

i work at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD with the the Transportation/Special Events Department. Right now my class is "Laborer" and lately i've been making 45-50 hours a week which makes for niiiice paychecks and after its cleared with the government i'll be getting trained on the different equipment (since its all gov owned) so that i can become a heavy equipment operator and make gooooooood money

Assembly Process Engineer at Pilkington Glass, making windshields for cars
(sorry, not for Hyundai, they seem to be monopolied by Korea Auto Glass. Otherwise, I woulda picked up a windshield for myself, cause you should see the huge chip I have in mine!)
I wish I worked 40hrs a week. Too bad the plant manager's office window is right beside the salary parking lot, so he can see every person who drives out at a reasonable time. It's funny, seeing his shocked face when you drive out at 5pm (which is 30min later than 8hrs of work)

05-08-2007, 09:20 PM
