I didn't drive, but was part of hte 5 man crew that was up 39 hours to keep the 5 drivers on the road. Out lasted the C&D crew who wadded up their new MX-5 car at about 7 am, 19 hours into the race.

We're the Green Neon, AKA Snot Rocket.

Sweet!

Since the C&D car was there, are you (or your team car) going to end up in the pages at the back of C&D?

I don't see an exd sticker on that neon bob, I'm highly disappointed in you! That had to be good times though, even though you were up all that time.

Maybe? They had photographers there. I know we traded paint with their absolute crappy drivers a couple times. Them, and the Bimmer group were the biggest bunch of a-holes on track. Both ended up being beaten out by the snot rocket because we finished and they smashed themselves up. . . it was great.

It's an experinece I would GLADLY do again!

damnit, shoulda told me about this I would have swung over to nelson ledges to watch, I like that 240z in the first pic, it looks like a BRE paint scheme.

how many sets of tires did the car go through?

We made 7 tire changes. The R888's lasted about 2-3 stints (1.5 hours each) and the RA1's lasted about 5-6. We had 5 drivers. Took around 6-7 gallons of gas at each stop. We were averaging 1:30 per lap, so about 60 laps per driver's shift. We went about 1940-ish miles total miles.

I didn't drive up, I rode with one of the drivers.

Wanna know the BEST part? The car owner DROVE the car home to Ft Wayne today. :abovelol: That's hardcore and the very spirit of grassroots.

People on the highway during his drive home must have thought he was the biggest ricer EVAAAAR. With a beatup neon, the green paint, and all those sponsorship stickers - on the highway it's a dead ringer for Ricer of the year award, but he's not.

He also brought his other club racer, a 4 dr neon. So he packed his entire weekend into 2 neons, and a Dodge intrepid.

That's what it's all about. Race on Sunday, drive it home Monday. I'd like to see someone in Sprint Cup or NHRA Prostock pull that one off!

Murfin? Sounds like something you would use to describe two smurfs getting it on.
