Most likely a 68 Camaro IMHO. Very quick regardless. Now go race against something slower so YOUR car looks that fast! LOL

Can you tell me what your launch rpm was ?

also, what wheels/tires/ suspension do you have on your car ?

I ask because when I ran my gtech best of 15.1 I had the stock wheels/tires and stock suspension but only slightly modified by 1 coil removed from the front and the back springs had these rubber spacers in them to keep them from compressing as much during the launch.

I still would like to know what you've done to it.

FordFasteRR

I am thoroughly impressed.

I want to know what his mods are too.

update:

I have done some calculations and I have found lots of info about his car just based on his 1/4 mile performance.

for instance..

I know that :
HP= 155-160 at the flywheel.
Weight = 2650+/- lb
0-60mph should be in the 7.5+/- second range

or... He could be using nitrous :)

here is a shot of his engine bay:

http://www.nitrousworld.com/pictures/BLK02XD01.JPG

his mods are:
4-2-1 forza header
Ported intake manifold.
Custom exhaust.
Accord style CAI.
lowering springs.
OZ racing wheels.
Stage 3 race clutch.
General Light weight mods.

So as far as engine HP I think that I was very close to accurate esimates.... 150-160 hp is where he should be at.

Very nice man!
what tires you have, and what RPMs you launching at?
if you improve your 60' time you might be able to be very close to flat 15s. I had the same 60' time as you and run half a second slower with just CAI. So if you work on your launches you should shave off another .1-.2 second!

FordFasteRR
11-05-2004, 02:45 PM
well, low 15's is what i'd expect from a BPU XD.

and he is an excellent example of that ! :)

BPU = Basic Performance Upgrades.

usually means I/H/E

I wonder.. Did you weigh your car @ the track ? If so, what is the weight ?

OdessitPashka
11-06-2004, 01:18 AM
I see. I never got a chance to weigh my car, though I really want to. I know stuff that I got out didn't weigh more than 100lbs, maybe 120lbs the most, but it seemed to make a big difference.

thats my +45 hp duct tape i got off ebay i need to get it dyno tuned so it will work properly
j/k
i cut off the breather tube on it when i put on a breather filter because i couldnt find a cap for it so i just put a peice of tape there, no nitrous for me.

tires are just the stock tires off the oz rally lancer, came on the wheels when i got them from damrons.
i was launching about 4,000 rpms
clutch dump seemed to work the best
when i tried to feather it i ended up with a worse 60 ft
little bit of wheel hop and it would go after that
didnt weigh my car, but i definately noticed a big difference by taking the stuff off the back.

oh yea i dont have a/c, and my power steering belt is off. sorry forgot i did that

OdessitPashka
11-06-2004, 05:17 PM
I managed to feather my cluth the way that there is no hop, no spin, no bogging down, I guess it's different for everyone. But if you could do what I did you would have gotten better 60' times and better 1/4mi time.

well, with those tires & 4000 rpm launch, you most likely had wheelspin out of the hole .. However with the tires i have, I had ZERO wheelspin. lol I had to launch at 5000 rpms and slip it just a little ( I MeAN A SPLIT SECOND) then dump it just to get out of the hole without a nasty bog ( and i still had a little bit of bog )..

With a stage three clutch, its very hard to feather.

really? I'm sure it's still possible! I will learn how to do it!

BLK02XD
11-07-2004, 06:37 PM
yea it was at gainesville and the track was really sticky, i got a little bit of wheelspin but alot of wheelhop. yea theres almost no feathering the stage three clutch, you can almost feel where you would want to feather it but it just grabs. thats why i went with the clutch dump

seems to me that a stage 3 would be easier to feather...im always afraid to slip the stock clutch much, but would feel fine slipping a heavy duty clutch. or at least it seemed that way when I drove sam's car, it had alot more feel to it.

i guess I'll let you know when I put my new clutch in (probably in the spring)

FordFasteRR
11-09-2004, 07:58 AM
I drove sams car once... that thing was grabby...

but yes, it is possible to slip a stage 3 clutch... its just really REALLY tricky....

:)

and he is still 1.2 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile than me...

damn thats a tough cookie :)

Congrats !!

ROFLBURGER w/cheese.

LMAO

"I think he just pissed himself" - funniest line ever.

Seriously, that XD looked like it was coasting to a stop sign... but it's all relative to the launch on that chevelle.
