What are the differences between the 0'1-06 GT Sedan, GT Hatchback and GLS Sedan?

Does the GT Sedan still have the stiffer suspension, leather seats, fog lights, alloy wheels, and blue-lit instrument cluster?

I saw an ad for a GT Sedan without leather seats and wondered if the dealer was just trying to pull a fast one...

sounds like it...ALL GT's had leather and all the mentioned items. the dead give away is the black moulding on the doors and bumpers

dead giveaway is the fogs. No GLS's ever came with fogs.

What are your thoughts on 01' vs 03'? A manual Elantra vs automatic? The mileage, Dealer or Owner? and the prices and "highlights" of each car.

Thanks! it has fog lights but no leather seats. But that gets me thinking that maybe it's been in an accident or something. Or maybe the dealer sold the leather ones and ordered the GLS seats...?

manual over auto. 02-03 are your best years for "issues". First year elantras had some silly stuff that was troublesone. Option A would be my first choice.

I'd go A, but make sure the timing belt has been done...

You're in Canada, eh? actually, I didn't think there was a GT sedan in Canada... was under the impression that the GT equivalent for the sedan was called the SE, but that may have been 2004+...

Read what I said. the sedan, in "GT" livery, was called the SE instead, at least in 04+. Otherwise, the GT was a hatch-only version in Canada...
so I just wanted the OP to check that the 03 sedan was in fact a GT and not just a souped up VE.

I think I may get serious about this one and see if I can work something out with the dealer:

I know it's an automatic and although I want to try a manual I think I should seriously learn how to drive one before buying a 5spd. I don't think Nova Scotia winters are the time to be learning a stick...

Also, do you guys think most of the depreciation is gone? Could I sell this one and get a 5 Speed 04-06 GT Hatchback in 2 years while still recovering some of that 2000?

depends how well you take care of it... it's already almost 10 years old, and depending on how much you drive, you might hit the 200,000 km mark needing another timing belt... Gotta figure that into the pricing...
