Well here is my review of them.
I got the Apexcone Raptor HID Kit witch is in my fog light's and I have the DDM HID Kit Slim Ballast in my low beam's both kits are 4,500k I all so got the harness kit for both set's. I had got a set of glare sheild's for the low beam's from Tricked on here. I have had the kit's for about two year's now with no issue's from the bulb's or ballast's. They come with a lifetime warranty on them. I had tried the E-Bay set first and did not like them at all they gave me the wizzing noise in my radio so $80 wasted on them. Then some one had posted up DDM the price was better then the E-Bay set and they came with a better warranty to. The install was cake all i had to do was drill two hole's in the the headlight dust covers made them a nice and tight fit and all was good and still is. The light out put is a 100% better vs stock bulb's I did have to adjust the light's down a little because of how bright they are. Here is a link to the website http://www.ddmtuning.com/

Bored man, lol? They are a good kit though and you definitely can't beat the warranty. Only thing I did beyond you as far as install was to use some gasket maker to seal the rubber plugs to the dust covers. Be 2 years in April for my DDM lows, and a year in March for my DD fogs with no issues to speak of.

You can't really go wrong with a lifetime warranty, especially for the price. Not sure if DDM has a sale today, but DD is 20% off the kits. Worth every penny!

I've had my DDM's for quite some time now.

I've liked them enough to get them for my elantra, lesabre, crown vic, and tahoe.

I also bought a set for my mothers diamante and my dads benz.

The ones on the elantra have been on for about close to 3 years now with absolutely 0 problems.

The ones on the vic are the 2 in 1 model and those are the only ones that give problems. This is an ex cop car so I had to rewire some things to make the lights work to begin with. I really think it is an electric issue with the car as it is because the bright switch on the stick gave me problems also when switching between low and high output.

Just do it Jimbo they are worth the money. The only difference is the raptor are large ballest and the other are slim them and a harness good to go!

let me put it this way, once you go with Hid's you will never want to go back to halogen bulbs ever again.

Go with a whiter shade for the next set. What are those, 8k? Try a 6k or 4500k. The brighter, whiter light is awesome!

jimbo3n21
11-28-2010, 12:39 PM
yea i think I'm going to be getting a white set next. F it, I'm gonna order them

Do i need to order anything like the hid harness or anything in that category or i just select the color, size and that's it

songee623
11-28-2010, 07:16 PM
I got the harness just to play it safe didnt want to chance frying any stock wiring so plus im running two sets so it was a yes for me on the harness. color i have the 4,500k and they are a bright white if and when my fogs go out ill get the 3,000k yellow to replace them.

11-29-2010, 10:07 AM
I don't have the harness for my lows, but the fogs wouldn't work without one. Either way, the harness is an easy hookup, just a pain in the *** to hide the extra wire.

Did you guys go with the 35 or 55 watt set??

Mine are both 35.

Silentwolf
11-29-2010, 12:41 PM
Ok, cause they have them on sale right now for $25 per kit (for the 35w) Thinking 8k Lows and 6k Fogs for $50 sounds good.

jimbo3n21
11-29-2010, 12:50 PM
I just ordered the slim ballast ones 45k. It came to around $51, with 2nd day air. hopefully that means they get here faster. It's nice because thats about half of what i paid for the ones i have on the car now. I paid about $140.

I got the 6k 55watt and they are super bright white. they say the 55watt 8k looks like 35watt 6k in color temp, my 55 6k are more in the 5k color temp, but they light up the road very nice.

I highly recomend the extra harness, i had issues with radio reception with out it on my old 35watt kit from ebay, but the harness fixed that.

songee623
11-29-2010, 05:16 PM
I did 35watt on both of mine dont know if its because i did the harness but never a radio issue at all. now my $80 ebay kit had the radio whine and the color was an off white not blue but not bright white.

Got the 35w 8k H7s for the lows w/ harness for $50 w/shipping. Gonna have to wait on the Fogs. Kinda debating whether 5k or 6k depending on how the 8ks look and shine.

Here's my only issue with HID fogs. I drive a lot of back roads at night (25 miles worth) on the way home from work. No street lights, lots of wildlife. Every time you switch between kis and fogs the fogs have to refire and warm up again. I've finally started turning the fogs off for that part of the ride.

Are you referring to the high beams?? If so, i'm guessing you havnt rewired the fogs to stay on with the parking lights. My fogs are tapped to the parking lights so they can be always on reguardless of my headlight's status.

bdiggy
11-30-2010, 04:13 PM
Yeah, sorry.....hi's. Did you do the retap like the DIY on eclub, or go a different way with it?

Silentwolf
11-30-2010, 07:00 PM
Actually, I had to install it all myself since its a GLS hatch and simply tapped into the parking lights line to begin with.

Twas a nice kit to do that with tho. It was either the first or second mod i did to the car.

blue is power and black is ground they go into the stock plugs from the bulb.

Grab a set of the 3k fogs and you'll be good, or did you mean you like the looks of it? Nasty confuses me as well, lol!

This is 4500k low and 3k fog:

i mean nasty as in ugly. my lights have like a yellowish tint to them, there not all white which is what i wanted

bdiggy
12-03-2010, 10:47 PM
Well, you can always order a set of 6k instead, and keep the 4500 for spares. With 8k in the fogs, I don't think anything is going to look right to you in the lows.

Any directions for wiring up the relay harness for the HIDs? No DIY for the harness on DDM's site.

songee623
12-08-2010, 05:57 PM
run power to batt and same for ground then plug all hid plugs in and the the two spade wires in to stock harness. I believe that was all for the harness nothing to out there when wiring it up.
if you need help just pm me and ill see what i can do to help.

bdiggy
12-08-2010, 11:39 PM
Don't the spade plugs only go in on one side with a harness? They did for my fogs, and that was only necessary to make the lights go on and off with the stock switch. Other then that, the harness allows the lights to operate solely off the battery rather then the stock wiring. The fog relay had 2 or 3 plugs I didn't use.

songee623
12-08-2010, 11:52 PM
i used the spades on both sides since they where already in there with the bulbs for the same reason as a relay to turn them on.

Silentwolf
12-09-2010, 12:19 AM
I've got it figured out now once i spread it out. Its quite similar to the fog light harness when i installed hit.

Silentwolf
12-14-2010, 12:13 AM
Not yet, between work, not feeling well, and waiting for dealer to get the right headlight cap, its not been done yet. Plus I'm still debating on how I'll put in the ballasts.

songee623
12-14-2010, 12:17 AM
did you get the small or large ballast? if the large put them on there side cut tape to fit and when you have the light pulled out tuck it into the metal bumper that where i have mine out of sight and makes for a cleaner look to. and i know what you mean about work and waiting on parts from the dealer and hope that you feel better too.

bdiggy
12-14-2010, 10:56 AM
What's the dealer raping you for dust caps? I'm almost afraid to know!

Problem seems to be with Hyundai's stocking numbers. As the cap they keep tryin to pawn off on me is the wider cap for the 01-03 model headlights. This time i showed them the headlight cap i needed so they'd believe me that it wasnt the right kind in their database. Parts guy said he had another number associated with it and that it should be in wed. So here's to hoping its right this time.

Silentwolf
12-16-2010, 03:01 PM

I'm considering this mod myself and I want to make sure that I am looking at the right parts.

Low beams: 35w H7 5000K
High beams: 55w H1 8000K
Fogs: TBD at a later date

I need clarification, if possible, on what the "Dual in, dual out HID Harness" is, if it is necessary, and how many I need. I also need the same info on the H1/H7 to 9006 adapters too. Thanks!

songee623

dont think you will need high beam just low and fog. my low are brighter than the stock high go with low and fog unless you use your highs alot. color will be a little off with using 35 and 55 watt but you also did two differant k's. mine are 35 4500k fog and low but 5 and 8k will work and i gave you the link for the harness to and Tricked f/s thread for sheilds i bump one to two times a week.

01RedRocket
03-25-2011, 12:36 AM
I rarely use the high's so I 'm probably not gonna do them but I thought I'd ask. I saw tricked's thread already I am going to buy them too as well as the harness of course.

songee623

01RedRocket
03-26-2011, 12:26 AM
Yeah that's what I'll do!

Edit: Their shipping is outrageous! ($20!) I'm still trying decide whether to buy from them or not.
Edit 2: It's not entirely their fault on the shipping...FedEx likes to bend people over backwards for shipping. I used a 5lb package coming from San Diego as the base for a quote and the cheapest is $15! I wish they used the postal service...$5 flat rate for the win!
