keep in mind with 290 injectors you wont get far. i believe the stock injectors are 240cc or 245... but for arguments sake lets say they are smaller 240 injectors.

that means that 290 injectors are close to 21% larger. that means as a baseline, your low throttle settings will be -21% ... however conversly you can only generally get 21% more power out of the engine (cuz you can only supply 21% more fuel)

SOOO that being said... if your engine and Turbo and setup is 100% efficent, you can cram in 21% more air. since 14.7 psi is atmosphere, we can take 21% of that and find that at 3 psi your engine will make 21% more power and be sucking in 21% more air.

HOWEVER engines are not 100% efficent, so most likely you can bump that up to 4 or 5 psi and be good...

so hopefully this quick lesson in math explains how to setup your injectors and how to calculate how big of an injector you want to run.

NOW keep in mind that if stock injectors are 245 cc your numbers will be SMALLER and you will not be able to run as much boost because the 290's would only be 18% larger, and thus you can only cram in 18% more air and that is 2.7psi so maybe 3.7psi would be your max gain blah blah.

Also keep in mind i made some basic assumptions to keep the math simple. i assumed that the stock injectors run at peak duty cycle *about 80%* at WOT and under peak load.

one more quick math tidbit... at 21% more power of my 04 is an extra 30 horse power. (rounding up) so that would bring my 140 crank hp to 170ish... now is that worth all the effort of a Turbo setup? just something to think about :P

Stock injectors are only 190cc if I remember correctly.

you are right. and alz you can always increase fuel pressure and make more power out of your injectors :)

wholy crap.. 190??!! i can piss more then that!

that is great info thanks guys

btw that means 290's are 53% larger and you should be okay up to 7 or 8 PSI with them bad boys... interesting!

Yeah, thats one way i figured on 600 cc injectors for the setup i was working on, i wanted almost triple horsepower so i went just about triple fuel. With a little extra to lessen the duty cycle.

FYI...It looks like Subaru WRX/STI Injectors are a direct swap. I will verify this tonight.

unless told otherwise, go with default. 1 in 1 out
