I have a 2005 but it's not a GT and it's not a GLS.
They did away with the "GLS" in 04 and it's now just "elantra" and "elantra gt"
It's weird cause I have a mid-range model. It has tweeters.

Yeah, I think you guys are right. I think remember my dad saying "It's too bad they don't have one of these GT's without the hatchback," when I got my car in May 2002. I'll edit the poll.

2004 Base Model 5 door in Australia = almost the same as a 2005 GLS Sedan, almost, but not really.

Fit it in the best category I guess.

yep. drive about 2 miles or less to work. I live in a smaller city, don't have to drive very far to get to anywhere. no money to go on vacation. though I have taken some couple hour road trips to stretch her legs out.

nope, not lazy. you gonna walk that far in the winter. I also carry stuff for work in the car. too much to carry it all the time by hand. also in my previous tech job, I needed the car to do road trips. I really don't want to carry my tech bag any further than I have to, it weighs too much.

Besides, there could be other reasons to drive that short of a distance. Might not be physically able to.

wow... that seems like a really early prduction date for a GT. I'm not doubting you.... it's just that the GT wasn't released until over 6 months later here...... interesting

Fixer was driving a 2003 Tiburon and the data plate on the driverís door had a manufactured date of 2001. That is like 2 years.

Yeah, they were right. I have one of the first GT sedans that Hyundai made and they were the 2003's.

*edit* I took delivery on 12/20/2002 and have just over 10,000 miles on it.

The Tib entered the market as an 03 model. They went on sale early in 2002 (they were sitting right next to my elantra on the lot in 02), so they had to be built starting before that (late 2001).

Think of the car-year more of a model number then the production date.

wildman92

Car model years don't line up with calendar years. The model years start around early August, I think, and sometimes a new model will be released earlier in the year with the following model year. Someone in the auto industry can probably explain the model years better, but I just posted what I understand about it.
