I can't believe it doesn't have it's own thread yet. I'll have to compile some of the older spy shots. Here is some type of artists rendering:

http://www.kiacarman.com/vboard_pic/upfile/national1112676432.jpg

This looks better, and probably more like the real car, then the TCC rendering which showed it looking like an ugly Acura MDX.

And one spy shot:

http://www.kiacarman.com/vboard_pic/upfile/c(27).jpg

Any more shots, add them to this thread. I'd imagine we are going to see the unvieling in December here in the U.S. That kinda makes sense, while at the same time it means even more new Hyundai's all coming in the last 3 months of the year. Which could be good or bad, I don't know. We'll see though.

TCC one (I think TCC were the ones who did it):

OMG! This is hot! I can't believe how well Hyundai is doing!

Does anyone know if it's true that Hyundai beat Honda and Toyota by reliability?

It sure looks aggressive ... like it is pissed off and wants to eat whatever is in it's way. At least that is what the artist's rendering in the top picture looks like. The bottom picture looks like a cross between a Toyota Highlander and Honda CR-V.

And I'm guessing that's EXACTLY what Hyundai is going for.....

Actually..... I think it looks like an evolution of the the current Sorrento (which I believe will share this platform as well)....

The new Santa fe will add a 3rd row seat

I think the concept drawing looks best. The front reminds me of a CRV. Definitely looks better than the current one which IMHO looks like a shoe.

The next gen Santa Fe will have a third row of seats as well as curtain airbags for the rear seats. I think it will have two engine choices the 3.3 and the 3.8 V6's. Mid life it may receive the V8 from the upcoming flagship sedan that is still a concept car. Look for an XD2 hybrid sometime next summer also.

That looks great compared to the current model. I agree Hyundai is definitely headed in the right direction. My only concern at this point on buying a new one is the resale value. I bought my Elantra used & saved a lot of money due to their low resale value. If I were buying new I'd think long & hard about a Honda only cause of the resale value even though I think the Hyundai is a great car. Seems others perceptions about Hyundai still need some work.

Like slvrsleeper said, it'll have the third row seat and the added airbags. Hyundai's emphasis on safety can be seen in the NF Sonata and the upcoming Azera and Accent.

I just hope they are making it as big as it should be.

As for resale, I'd say within the next five years that the Hyundai resale value will be pretty good and a lot better than it was five years ago or even now. Will it be as high as a Honda? Nope, but after 2010 enough people will understand the value of a Hyundai and I don't think it'll be a problem.

New spy pics... it doesn't look quite as big as I thought it would. I really like the front, it looks very similar to that concept drawing, maybe a little less aggressive though. I'll have to see a better shot of the back to determine how much I like it though. The outerpart of the tails looks similar to XD Hatches though, cool. Also, you can see the small third row seat, it looks similar in size to the one in the Highlander (from what I can see).

Tell me about it. My wife is already talking about trading in her 2003 Santa Fe for a new one. Good thing she's got low miles.

Please note on the second picture, through the rear passenger door window, is what looks like the possible profile of the 07 Elantra (Silver).

That's what I read on some other sites as well, who knows though, it's such a small piece of the car.

And, obviously the person taking the pics knew the Santa Fe was brand new, so you'd think the Elantra was new too and would have also taken pics of that...

"Hyundai has been on a new-product blitz, bringing to market one new vehicle after another. So far Hyundai has introduced the Tucson and the Sonata, and has put out official information on the Azera.

Still to come is an all-new Hyundai Santa Fe sport-utility vehicle. These photos capture a prototype Santa Fe without any front-bumper disguise, thus giving us a clear view of the SUV's new looks.

With the new Hyundai Tucson filling the role of compact SUV in the model lineup, Hyundai is now free to grow a larger Santa Fe and move it up a size class to compete with larger SUVs like the Nissan Murano and Toyota Highlander. The increased size will allow the Santa Fe to have a third row of seats for the first time.

The new Santa Fe will be built on a platform that is shared with the new Hyundai Sonata sedan, and the Santa Fe will also be built in Hyundai's new plant in Montgomery, Alabama.

Styling is fresh and ditches the voluptuous looks of the current Santa Fe in favor of a look with a large, forward-sloping grille. The rounded shape of the front end gives the new Santa Fe a unique design by eliminating the typical protruding bumper used on every other SUV."

Looks like the interiors of all the new Hyundais are pretty similar, which makes sense I guess. I can't say that's a bad thing. It appears as if all the new models are also going to have a more "integrated" dash, meaning the HVAC controls aren't a one piece deal like our cars.

I can't wait for reliable specs on the size of the vehicle, because it still looks too small to me.

Is that a manual shifter I see?

Sure is. You used to be able to get a base model 4 cylinder Santa Fe with a manual transmission up until about 6 months before the Tucson came to town.

Also, this is probably a Korean test model, where they will probably still get it with a manual trans.

From the looks of that Japanese site something is going to be happening November 22nd. I'm assuming the Japanese press release, or some sort of event.

If only they would clear out the front and rear amber blinkers then that would look soo much better. The amber parts just looks to dated now to see it on a car. The tails look like the VW's SUV, sorry cant spell that dam thing

Kinda a cros between the new subbie B9 and the VW Toureg. Overall not bad.

if compared side by side with the touareg, it could be said that the design is quite similar but as you can see when comparing the old santa fe to new version it still retains its swoopy side profile a bit more than the stright lines of the vw
