I was wondering about the difference if any in ceramic and chrome headers
(reliability, quality, performance, etc) Can someone please tell me the difference??

Also I would like to know if anyone has ever bought this header and if it will fit on my Elantra 03!

That header will require some modification to fit, any muffler shop can do it for $50 approx. The ceramic coating on the SSAutochrome OBX or other less than $200 ebay headers is not real ceramic coating, it is just paint and chips/flakes off very soon after installation. The benifit of a real ceramic coating is that it is an insulator and would keep more of the exhaust heat in the exhaust system and out of your engine bay. Inaddition to lowering engine bay temps the air in the exhuast would stay hotter and hotter gasses move more quickly and the faster the exhaust leaves the engine the better.

Chrome is purely for temporary good looks. The hotter it gets, the worse it looks, I think. Ceramic not only has the advantage of outlasting chrome, but it also keeps underhood temps down.
Check out Jet-Hot (http://www.jet-hot.com/) for more info

Keep in mind that you can buy any header with any finish on it and have it ceramic coated w/ sterling silver to look like chrome, only w/ the benefits of ceramic. The company that I mentioned did a set for my truck, very pleased.

also Mike had his SSAutochrome ones ceramic coated and damn they look nice. 150 or so for the header 110 or so for the ceramic coating still cheaper than alot out there. You could also wrap the header.

I had these ceramic coated in silver and then polished. They're still holding up

yeah..posted them on NT and the old XD boards. the header was the only modification and got 7hp to the wheels. I didnt recieve a TQ read out, and I wasnt there that day of the dyno to ask for one. The response from the tib owners has been good, they say they really compliment the other modifications. Oh and NO CEL...test car has been running for 4 months or so now.

The other benifit of ceramic -vs- chrome, is the ceramic coated ones will not turn blue and purple with the heat. They stay the same color forever.

I have the SSAUTOCHROME header and I am very happy with the outcome. The chrome isnt discolored too bad and it was pretty cheap!

It must be a fairly good chrome job then. Most cheaper chromes will blue out pretty quick.

I.d go with ceramic coated headers in relation to performance
If you were building for show then maybe chrome but as stated they will go a bluish purple color if used often - Saying this i'd like to see how long the GUDE manifold will last as it is chrome also - off topic i know but this post made me think of it

Hotshot makes some of the best headers out there. You can't go wrong with them. Everyone on sentra.net and se-r.net swears by these headers. I'd buy one for myself but I'm still not sure if I want to go turbo or not.

I do like the hot shot as well. If I do a header, I think that's the one I would do.

I believe Rshack has the SS OBX ones and they look great on his car....still Not trying to disuade people from Hotshot headers but they are a LOT more money than the OBX.
