: Ahhhhhh Damn Spider!

Alright,

For the past 2 weeks or so there has been a spider somewhere in my car.

Every 1-2 days, I get a pleasant surprise of a spider web somewhere, but I never see the damn spider.

Today it was right in my face when I got into the car and got stuck in my hair

Thoughts?

get one of those little happy meal sized figurines of spiderman's worst enemy/villain counterpart hehe

ok to be serious, if you dont have cloth seats, try a fogger, if you do have cloth cover them up real good and do the fogger thing but dont do it in the sun just in case it melts/welds onto your dash and stuff. its already gonna be a ***** to get off of your windows.

overkill? yeah probably but if this thing has been there for a while it has probably layed eggs or worse, they have hatched. you need to do something YESTERDAY

good luck

I think I will just put a camera in the car to watch it move during nightime...

Sorry no pics, haha. It almost looked like its abdomen had exploded and there was spider juice leaking out (not a pretty sight). It was probably around 100 degrees inside the room over the weekend though.

So... I guess it wasn't such a good idea for a class pet.

good luck getting a day warm enough, days are getting colder here already!

I say blow torch the sucker out of there!!! did that in my house once, the spider was as big as my hand though, so I didn't want to squish it. Took hairspray to a lighter and went at it. It was glorious.

here's a few tips I found on google

Wash windows inside and out with a combo of ammonia & water. When windows dry (almost automatically outdoors) go over the entire window (metal frame too, if necessary) with newspaper and kerosene. The kerosene also evaporates immediately but leaves a residue that repels spiders, flies and mosquitoes. -JH

There are plug-in devices that create a "barrier" in your walls and emit a high-pitched tone that bugs run from. They sell at Sam's Club for $20 for a package of 3; I've also seen them at Wal-Mart. They work! I hate spiders and our new house was loaded with them until I got these. It took about a month to get rid of them all, but I saw an improvement almost immediately. Or, you could buy a few frogs. - Mae

I learned this from the man who trained the spiders for the movie "Arachnophobia". Spiders have their taste buds on the tips of their legs. They also hate the taste of Lemon Pledge. Dust your window sills and doorframes with the Pledge, both inside and out, and any areas where they accumulate. The spiders will find that they don't want to live with you. - Tina

Better hope it isn;t one of these bad boys... I have been finding these monsters all over the place and i know if i was driving down the freeway and it popped out on my lap or face or somthing i would probably put my car in the ditch. look at the size compared to the mirror and that leaf... i don;t know if they are poisonous or not but i have never seen them around here before. One of them actually hissed at me just before i crushed it...

brown recluse's and black widowns are the ones you want to look out for. as for the spider on the side of your car, it doesnt seem like "normal" brown recluse spider habits. those like cool dark damp enviroments. i worked for sears as a pest controll tech for a couple years when i was younger. but i would be a good idea to remove all the leaves and mess around your car so the spiders dont think they can make a habitat in/around your car.

I've never had spiders inside my car, but I've had a few in the past who loved making my side mirrors their home and spinning lovely webs for me to clean off every day.
Living in OZ, I don't fear spiders...
For 2 weeks I had a 6" Badge Huntsman making itself at home on my walls/ceiling:

Man, if there were 6" spiders around here, I'd have a baseball bat with me at all times. I did see a large (around 4"), hairy spider in my parents' garage when I was in college... I beat it with a shovel.

I just looked up that huntsman spider thing... it can grow up to 11". MF'in HELL NO!!!!

now im going to have to go spider hunting in my apt tonight. i usually do this when i see 1 or 2 up in the corners trying to warm up from the lamps. yeah, i keep my place cold (70*-72* in winter and about 74* in summer). i dont get too many (that i see) cause of how cold i keep my apt.

The camel spider creeps me out.

http://flambore.com/linktrack/img/0905/090105bigspider.jpg

BATTLE #1: Tarantula vs. Camel Spider
When I was a kid, I thought black widows were the evilest, grossest creatures alive. Learning about tarantulas gave me a whole new nightmare until I recently saw my first picture of a Camel Spider. No insect ever made me say, "Holy ****!" like a fuggin Camel Spider. Let's go over the differences between the two, shall we?

http://img414.imageshack.us/img414/8701/versusaa0.jpg

RESULT: TARANTULA DIES FROM SHEER TERROR.

http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/8312/tarantulayq2.jpg http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/5269/camelspidergf4.jpg

Camel Spiders will one day conquer this planet, and I for one, plan to be on the winning side. Sure I may live an miserable existence, but I won't hesitate to sell out my fellow humans for even just a few more miserable moments of life. Nothing can defeat the Camel Spider.

On a side note, a camel spider can achieve a top speed of 10MPH! Imagine being chased by that.

If you think spiders are scary, then you should check out giant centipedes:

on a few occasions I've woken up with spider bites on my chest/abdomen. Assuming that they are not poisonous spiders because, well, I'm still here. It was while I was living in Australia.

I would have gone to the dr, but they need to know what kind of spider it was, and with me asleep, there was no way to know.

Between 1991 and 2001, 1,943 persons were reported fatally injured by animals. This was further broken down to 759 deaths related to venomous animals and 1,184 for non-venomous animals.

Centipede 5

The No. 1 killer was "Other" numbering 846 deaths. Unfortunately there is no good breakdown of this catch-all category. Many of the large animals such as bears, sharks, cows and horses are included in this "Other". Therefore, the actual number of fatalities caused by a specific species is no known for many animals.

The Brazilian wandering spider or the Banana spider makes your camel spider look like a *****.If this spider bites you your dead, you wont have enough time to get help. They sometimes get into the banana boxes that get shipped to america.Very fast and deadly, I was reading about this guy who found one in a banana box kept it as a pet. He had to kill it because it was very agressive,VERY AGRESSIVE. Its the pit bull of spiders.
