    To permanently disable a code, you can find the sensor that is throwing the code. Then figure out the proper resistance value that the sensor should give the ECU and apply that to the sensor wire.

    Definitely not the proper fix, because it could cause the engine to run improperly. Engine is probably already running wrong, and has made adjustments as much as it can compensate for.

    Tricking the ECU to think it is running properly will null any compensation that the car is trying to do to make it run better given the status/condition of the malfunction.
