XD's come standard with an alarm system, so if you have that, then you can use your keyless entry.

The problem is IDK my car came used and I didnt have a fob when I bought it. I am super clueless when it comes to anything electronic in the car. The biggest help I can give is that I don't have anything extra or nice.

Call the dealership with your VIN#. They'll be able to tell you for sure.

rule of thumb number one...if you mod the car at all...never..NEVER!!!...give the dealership ur VIN number....i always tell them they dont really need my VIN when they do work on my car...which i avoid at all cost...

^That is such bad advice. First of all, the dealership needs his vin# to tell whether or not his car is equipped with keyless entry. Also, you need the VIN# to check for parts, recalls, etc. And if you refuse to let them record your VIN# when working on your car, you have to course of action if they screw up your car. They'll just say they never worked on that particular car since there is no work under that VIN# in their system. Besides, I don't think our dealership would even accept your car for work if you didn't let us record your VIN#.

In order to make sure we get the right part for the car, you have to enter the VIN into the parts catalog and it will filter the results so that only the parts that are meant for your exact car are sold. That is standard practice at EVERY dealership. Since you are asking for a part that is meant for a completely different car, you would have to A) get a VIN from the correct Tibby, or B) give them the part number that you want.

Not necessary. He has an XD, he can set it himself in five minutes.

Ricer's correct. On both accounts. almost 6 years in dealerships tells me so.

The whole "Don't give them your VIN because you modified it" crap is just delusional paranoia. You think if you need warranty work they're above searching out your racing threads and pics online?

no but tell me why they needed my VIN number and one from a Tib??? Concord Hyundai is known in NorCal as the worst hyundai dealership...as far as parts department goes....because of their horrible service...many other dealerships say to not go to them...and everyone in sales there knows about their parts department and often times will send people to other dealerships in the area....

You mean a competing dealership will tell you not to go to their competitor? Wierd...

Again. You need to give them the VIN to look up parts because they want to make sure you get the correct parts. They don't want you coming in 10 times because of trial and error because it will piss you off and waste their time, when all you had to do was take two seconds to write down 17 letters/numbers off of your vehicle. And they didn't need one from your vehicle AND a tib, they just need the one from a Tib because that's the vehicle that comes with the part that you want. If you want to get the correct part, then you need to get them the VIN of the vehicle that came with the part.

Also understand that Hyundai has got to be one of the worst manufacturers for changing parts throughout a model year. Without the VIN, it's a crap shoot for getting the correct part. Trust me, I did it long enough to know.
