    Default New head unit

I just bought a new Pioneer Head unit (DEH-P6900UB) with external USB drive. I love it. I can put over 500 songs on this little 2gig flash drive and listen for days.

The illumination color is sweet. Did you run that external drive to the glove box?

Yeah... It came with a six foot USB cable that I stuck in there. Makes it easy to access. I set it to play randomly, and I haven't heard the same song twice yet.

Wish I would of waited for something like this on the HD unit I bought. It came out a month after I bought the one that I did. At least it has satellite controls though. I ran my satellite tuner to the glove box like that so it can be accessed at any time. Good stuff man.

i think my next hu will have something similar. I like the fact its not on the face, those stick out too far and can get bumped. the extension in the glove was super smart too.

That's the one thing I wanted on my new headunit, because I have a 4gig flash drive on my keychain that I could use.

Nice headunit, how's the sound quality?

USB flash drives are FTW on headunits. I love that feature. I currently have a 1gb that I use, but I've been waiting to stumble across a "nearly free" deal on a bigger one, like I did with the 1gb I have now.

What's the biggest size it supports? I think mine can only support up to 10gb... haven't tried it. I always toyed with the idea of hooking up an external USB hard drive to a power inverter and trying to use it as a huge music library. Your external USB connection would be perfect for that.

Best Buy currently has 4gb Cruzer Micros for $39. That's way too good to pass up.

That's the same one I have, but 4x bigger. Maybe I'll have to make a stop by BestBuy (*shivers*... I hate those people).

The sound is awesome. Much better than the previous Pioneer I had.

As far as I know, there is no limit. It will even do direct control of an I-Pod if you use both the USB and the AUX connection.

I got the 2 gig at Circuit City for $12.99.

I love it so far. You can view a complete list of every single song on the drive, as well as all of the songs on a CD if it has CD TEXT. The multi-control wheel is just like an ipod control, so that's easy. And, it has great sound controls. I wouldn't pass it up for anything at the price.
