Default pics from my trackday event at grattan raceway (56k grab a snickers)

yeah, so this is what i do for fun for the last 2-3 years. most of ya know, i got away from modding my xd and into sport bikes. the pics below tell the reason why. this stuff is better than any drug ive ever tried. sheet, its just about better than sex, unless its a 3some. then the 3some wins hands down.

ill be racing/playing at mid ohio's course this tuesday, i cant wait. a new track for me to play on.

anyways enough gabbing, ill let the pics below speak for themselves.
i think next year i may start to RACE. yes, race. like racing next to others and rubbing paint and crap. its gonna be expensive, but ill try and get some sponcerships for tires and stuff. tires run about 350.00 for the front and rear (which need replacing after every race day.. front brakes are 125.00+, and hotel and gas. well you get the picture

the blue bike is my track/race bike. paid 3000.00 for a bike i could beat the living piss outa and if i wreck it, i wont care. i bought it cause i didnt want to wreck my liter bike/street bike. i have alot of money into that bike (about 10,000.00 (value is about 9400.00 if i sell it).
and i dont give a rats ars about matching. its all about protection from the ground. but all my gear matches. lol

ill be repainting the bike over the winter. not sure on a color tho. might be black with a white number plate (currently running yellow number plate). but the color all depends on what group your racing in.

and yes, nothing like hitting the straight banging thur the gears, 2nd to 3rd to 4th to 5th and hitting about 130mph in 6th gear, only to brake fakin hard and downshift/blipping the throttle (rev matching) all the way down to 3rd about 5000rpms and hitting turn 1 at about 90mph while hanging off the bike and dragging a knee on the ground. wooo, just about better than sex guys.

im trying to get some video. but need a camera system 1st. anyone have an reccomendations? the go pro digital camera system is popular with the bike racers.

Nice! I would love to be able to try that once I get my goddamn license next year. It takes soooo much time, but I guess in the end I'll be safer than those kids in the USA that buy bikes without prior riding knowledge.

that lean is nothing compared to what i usually do and the way my friends ride. im fast, but my friends are alot faster.

kewl, no lisence needed to play at the track man

and x2 on newbs getting bikes bigger than their heads. i hate when newbs get 600rr (RR = race replica) bikes, let alone newbs getting liter bikes (1000). some countries wont allow you to get certain sized bikes unless you have time under your belt. i wish the US would impliment that rule.

You need a license here, lol. I have the necessary one right now, but no way in hell am I hitting the track without some time under the helmet on normal roads, lol.

i will guarantee you that you will learn how to ride better doingn 1 trackday than riding on the streets for a year. on the streets you learn by watching all the other azzhats thinking they are riding properly. on the track, you are given instruction by controll riders (who are racers mostly) on the proper way to handle the bike, throttle the bike, corner entry and exit, carrying speed safely as well as working on correct body position. those factors your not gonna learn on the street by some super squid trying to teach you the improper way to do wheelies at 80mph on the freeways with other vehicles around. oh, ive got 20,000 miles on the street in the last 3 riding seasons as well as about 5000+ track miles. and out of that i might have only done 2-3 wheelies. id rather take a corner at a very high rate of speed than riding on 1 wheel or doing other stunts. i live my life 1 apex at a time sorry, thats my favorite saying. lol

im about to give up on riding the streets all together and go strictly track and start racing next year. if thats the fact, ill build up my 1000rr and race that since im really comfortable and i know that bike very well. im still up in the air about it tho.

Yeah, but I'm talking about basics. I need to get comfortable. I probably have like 1000 miles on the road if not less at the moment.

They offer racing courses here at a track, next year it is in my calendar book. I am not financially comfortable enough to start doing track days (still at school), but track racing courses would be good.

track racing is different than a track day. racing involves getting your lesence thru either WERA or NESBA, which is what ill be doing next year if i keep on improving like i am currently. a track school is what your looking for. sportbiketracktime.com or apex2apex.com. A2A is more of a racers trackday organization, where as STT is more of a instructional school for newbs.

also, before you even think about stepping foot/tire on a track, let alone any paved road, GEAR UP!!!!!!!! make sure you read the requirements for your bike as well as person (what gear is required). you dont want to show up not prepared and be turned away.

also, you might wanna give up modding the xd after you get into bikes. bikes are alot more fun (sorry, but its true). i currently work alot to play alot.

when you say newb what does that entail? When I am allowed to get a bike it will be a cbr 600 rr. Is that not a good choice for a starter bike? I have ridden my Dad's bike a number of times. I have ridden friends street bikes on occasion. Mostly Gixxers 1000 cc I think? not sure but they scare the **** out of me. I like the 600 because it wasn't as big/bulky and heavy. I'm just a little guy here.

I did take a abate course and a few different motorcycle safety courses.

let me explain it like this.

any newer 600cc bike, be it an R6 (yamaha), 600rr (honda), gsxr600 (suzuki), all these are race replica bikes. all capable of beating any vehicle (factory) in a race.

any newer 1000rr bike, be it an R1, 1000rr, gsxr1000 will beat anything including the bugatti veyron (yes, the 1.3 million dollar car, it only does a 10.2 1/4 mile). most 1000cc bikes will do a low 10 sec bike STOCK!!!!

imo, any newb (newbie) needs to start out on a bike lesser than 600cc's. i dont care if your a fakin fat *** weighing 300 lbs or are 7' tall. the weight and height of a person has little to no effect on a sportbike when 1st learning. so dont fool yourself. and any newbie getting on any 1000cc bike, should be bish slapped. 1000cc bikes are NOT forgiving in case you "mess up". the 600cc bikes are alot more forgiving if you accidently grab too much throttle or too mjuch brake. do that on a 1000cc bike and chances are your gonna get seriously hurt or killed. i am not trying to scare you, only informing you.

if your just starting out riding, i will suggest a ninja 250. i know, ghey as all hell. but ride that for 1 season or about 3000 miles then sell it and get a 600cc bike. ride it and get used to how things work, the way you steer the bike (by the way you dont steer with the handle bars, but rather counter steering and leaning in the turns as well as weight distribution on the foot pegs).

on my street bike, a 2004 cbr100rr, its pretty heavily modded. nothing but the best and highest bolt ons, and no motor work and i run consistant 9.5sec 1/4 mile times. but im not a drag racer, im a circuit track racer.

oh, and always take the MSF course (motorcycle safety foundation, 40.00) this will teach you the fundamentials of riding.

thanks for being SMART and using your head (the one on top) and not getting in over your head and getting yourself or others killed by making the wrong decisions and listening to everyone else.

the 250 is a great "learning bike" thats all. its a 27whp (yes, 27 wheel horse power) bike. meant for beginners with NO riding experience. riding your bros gixxer doesnt count for sheet guys. actually getting seat time means riding a bike. do not listen to anyone but your own ars. remember, self preservation will only allow YOU to take it as far as you let it. and a bike will only go as fast as the right wrist wants it to.

use your head, make the right decisions, and you will have a fun and great time.
