My 2008 SE has the factory radio with the AUX port at the bottom. I've noticed some cars have the AUS AND a USB port. Is this an entirely different radio, or could I add the USB port and have it work with my radio? All the radios look the same except for the ports in the console.
without seeing the back of the port it would be hard to say....I noticed the diff in my dads 07 compaired to my 09. Both radios act the same, you plug something in either port and it auto turns on the Aux. So it might be as easy as just getting the port area out of a newer model.
I've noticed in 09 the radios use a different connector that shows wiring for USB, however I've seen 08 models wit the USB port. I don;t understand why some had the USB and some didn't. Mine is a loaded SE and didn't come with it.
The units that have a USB port have 3 connectors on the back of the HU while the ones with just an AUX input have two connectors on the HU. I don't think it would be a simple swap.
