I have a 2011 GLS with 107,000 miles that is jerking hard around 5,500 - 6,000 RPMS. It doesn’t do it at any time at lower RPMS. It’s an automatic transmission. It almost feels like it’s jumping from a lower to higher gear and back really fast. It continues until I start decelerating.

It only happens when I really get in it. There are no computer codes when tested with a diagnostic tool.
Any ideas as to what the problem may be?

UPDATE

Induced the problem again briefly. The tachometer jumped pretty wildly during the jerking. Also the ‘check engine’ light came on briefly and then went off and stayed off.
