Seems like a pretty good starting point to me.

Hyundai Press Release said:
HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA ANNOUNCES 2012 VELOSTER PRICING
Innovative Three Door-Coupe Features Standard 40 MPG and Hyundai Blue Link®

COSTA MESA, Calif., 08/24/2011
Hyundai Motor America has announced pricing for the 2012 Veloster three-door coupe, starting at $17,300 for the six-speed manual and $18,550 for the six-speed EcoShift™ Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). Veloster is a playful front-wheel drive coupe targeting the likes of Mini Cooper, Volkswagen Beetle and Scion tC while delivering 28/40/32 mpg with the six speed manual and 29/38/32 mpg with the DCT.

Veloster delivers innovation to the compact coupe segment with standard features such as a unique third door for easy rear-seat access, Hyundai’s Blue Link™ telematics system, Pandora® internet radio, seven-inch touch-screen display, and a new 1.6-liter Gasoline-Direct-Injected (GDI) four-cylinder engine and six-speed transmission.

Freight charges for the 2012 MY Veloster are $760.
Pricing in this release does not include freight.

Veloster combines design elements of a coupe and the functionality of a hatchback, while incorporating an additional passenger-side rear door for uncompromised rear-seat access. In the past, some coupes have used limited access rear-hinged access doors. These coupes have required opening the front door before the rear door could be opened, an inconvenience for drivers and passengers, and difficult to use in tight parking lot situations. Hyundai’s new thinking implements a conventionally-hinged door on the passenger side, providing safe and easy access to the rear seats and a hidden door handle to maintain its coupe design.

In the digital age, buyers expect to be connected all times, so Veloster comes standard with a multi-function seven-inch touch-screen display, Gracenote® display technology with voice recognition and Pandora® internet radio capability. For more information on Velosters’ advanced technologies and safety features visit http://hyundainews.com/Media_Kits/2012_Models/veloster/Press_Release.asp.

To assist in fuel savings, Veloster M/T weighs 2,584 lbs, which is lighter than the Mini Copper S, and over 400 pounds lighter than Scion tC. In addition to advancements in fuel economy, the advanced 1.6L GDI engine produces 138 horsepower, which gives it the best specific output in its class.

Veloster sales begin in September.

Re: 2012 Hyundai Veloster Pricing Announced

So, we could guesstimate that the forthcoming Veloster Turbo would carry a what - $2000 price premium above the current top trim? That would make it $21,310 with freight: right in the ballpark of a Genesis Coupe 2.0T (but with more bells and whistles than the lowest-trim GenCoupe).

I like the car, it seems like it would be fun to drive and good for commuting. Its definitely not aimed at the family segment but I think Hyundai has that covered pretty well already.

Yeah, it's the plain-jane naturally aspirated Veloster. The higher HP (turbo) version is coming later.

Alright, so fully loaded at 22.3k so Turbo model will probably be ~24k fully loaded. Like the black n red option for the interior but u have to get the style and tech package to get it.

Re: 2012 Hyundai Veloster Pricing Announced

Yesterday I had the opportunity to test-drive the Veloster!
It's an absolutely great looking car! It turns heads everywhere you arrive. Handling is also great (talking about the german/european version). Very direct and responding steering. Also great interior with nice details and good-looking and -feeling materials and the seats are awesome.
But: the engine is absolutely disappointing! My XD2 feels way quicker and stronger! With the n/a engine it's no option for me! I hope the turbo version is as fun to drive as the looks of the car promises!

Thanks for the info Catfish.

Is the engine at least smooth and the shifting good?
Yes! It is smooth and surely a good engine. But not for a sporty looking car like the veloster. Might be a good engine for the Elantra/i30 but for the Veloster, as I said, very disappointing!

Re: 2012 Hyundai Veloster Pricing Announced

i guess thats when the turbo will benefit.
Yes, the Turbo would be my choice! Comes to Germany in spring 2012. But prices are very high over here!
A fully loaded Veloster 1.6 GDI costs the same as a fully loaded Genesis Coupe 2.0 T. Too much for the smaller car imo!
