Hello all, my 2003 Elantra GLS has been running pretty well recently until yesterday. All of my windows no longer roll down, initial I think I shorted something out. I noticed that my left tail light has been out, so I bought a replacement bulb the Sylvania 2357 I believe. I take out the housing and it turns out the the whole socket looks like it melted into itself and the connections have sunk in, no longer making contact with the bulb. So I get my knife(like an idiot) and start trying to fiddle with the connector points to bring them up. After doing this with no success I put the new bulb in.

My left tail light no still doesn't work and now ALL of my windows will not roll down. They do not work from the driver side master switch or any of the passenger switches.
  • The headlights still work
  • The sunroof still works
  • The side mirror adjuster still works

The only thing that is malfunctioning is the windows switches. Luckily all the windows were up at the time but its an inconvenience. I think its still getting power to the switch because it makes the clicking noise when you press it. I checked the 30AMP fuse in the holder by the steering wheel for the windows and that doesn't look blown. I don't know what to do, help?? Suggestions??

Well no one responded. I ended up going to a repair shop, they made me a new custom pigtail housing and said it was a bad ground and blown brake light fuse. $68 dollars, and fixed. If you are in the LA area, having electrical problems. I highly recommend Hugo's Auto Electric.
