Guys:

My alternator tensioner bolt likes to loosen itself. This causes the belt to squeal, and even for the alternator to stop spinning (not a good thing). I was wondering if anyone else had this issue, and what to do to prevent it.

I am considering adding a nut to the tensioner bolt assembly to prevent it from unthreading itself. However, I am concerned that I might end up putting too much pressure on the cross bolt that threads into the alternator. I have already snapped two of these bolts (the stock one and a crappy replacement bolt), so I am keenly aware of this possibility.

The other option would be to use something like Loctite to make it very difficult for the bolt to loosen. Again, not sure of the potential pitfalls of such an approach.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks for your help!
