Ugh, I feel your pain. I got mine slightly used and whoever had it before me must have like to put stuff on the trunk, cuz it's got a bunch of scratches!!! I def. need to get a high quality paint job somewhere in the near future!!

I'm glad I spent the extra cash to get the 5 yr paint and interior warrenty. If they can't get out the scratches or acid rain spots at the shop, they'll repaint the entire car for you free of charge. Also, if there's damage to the interior that they can't fix, they'll replace the interior panelling and seats for you (I have a GT, and leather seats are expensive), free of charge.

I think it's like 500 bucks, and some dealerships are willing to give this warrenty if you are still within the 5 year bumper to bumper warrenty.

That's not completely true. You can see the door dings. I have a couple.

My cobalt blue seems to pick up scratches. I am always waxing or buffing something out.

I have a silver GT and the same asshole has slammed his door into mine twice, once in the driver side and once in the passenger side . I got small dents from both and big chunks of red paint on both doors. Doors do dent easily though, and paint isn't all that strong.

Just in case anyone wanted to know: I keyed the a-holes car (but not with a key, instead I used a rock), and put a gay bumper sticker right at the sight line of his windshield.

use the meguires stuff...it works for a while...until the scratches come back as the wax deteriorates.....sigh!

My car is only 7 months old and it too is "beaten up" even though I try to take care of the car (as all of us on this board try to do).....us dark color cars just suffer!

I have tried alot of different stuff. I dont know what its called but the stuff our detailers use is really good I just usually borrow some from them. For a 2001 my car still is in pretty good shape paint wise no big scratches or scrapes.
