Hey fellas, I just bought a 2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS with ~128,xxx miles on it.

I looked up the VIN number and found the car only had 1 owner, got it from an auto auction at $3000.

I checked everything out, engine is clean as well as everything else. Took it to a mechanic who inspected the car and said it was fine.

To be honest, I'm happy with the price but a few of my friends and family say it was a bit too much and that I can't really do much to it(as in tuning, etc).

It's an automatic and silver.

I couldn't really find the MPG for it, since most sites were showing like 20-21 which I doubt was the correct number even for a 2.0 Litre.

Any opinions/feedback?

Oh and what are some basic things I can do it to tune it?

I was thinking of getting some blue or white headlights and maybe some nice rims but that's just looks. I really don't know what to performance wise.

first of timing belt. i had mines done not to long ago at a kia dealer (lol) and they wrote the date on there. check to see if it was done if not do it or if you dont know if it was done still do it.

as for mods look here in the diy and at other post on mods.
i have had my elantra for a while now and the only mod i have done is get gome good speakers and a HU.

i am saving up to get her painted then tinted and rimed.
i had wanted to put in a short ram intake but i dont want her to be loud. lol

As for the price, if you are happy with what you paid, then it doesn't matter what others think.
