Brake Upgrade Questions

I'm planning on using my 15" stock steel wheels in the winter. So I need some upgrade to fit with the rim on. If I kept the same rotor size, is there any duel piston calibers that would fit?

maybe if you keep the stock brakets But I am not sure if they will bolt on to them, I believe the 02 xg350 set up fits the GT alloy wheels it will not fit the steelies, best 15" rim upgrade for this cars are the Lancer O.Z wheels.

Not that I know of. Any brake upgrade will involve a larger caliper and most likely a larger rotor. So I doubt it unless someone else has another idea.
Ok so i really want to do this brake upgrade> http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/showthread.php?48826-Evo-DSM-Big-Brake-Upgrade-How-To

I went to O'rilly auto parts and asked them if they had the Mitsubishi eclipse GSX AWD Turbo front calipers. (few thats a mouth full) So they do and they quoted me $167 for the pair of calipers. (I didnt buy them just yet) Now i asked them if they could get evo rotors and they couldn't which is what i suspected. They said to check some of the big brake companies online to see if i could get them. He also said i could have them ordered at the dealer. I asked "how much would that be?" He said "you dont want to know." Well if you know me i want to know. Ill have to find a time to go over to Mitsubishi and see how much it is. I dont know what a good price is for them though. I feel like $200 for a pair of front rotors is the max i would pay. Whats a good price for evo front rotors? How much should a front brake upgrade cost? I was thinking this upgrade was going to be over $500 but i might be wrong. I also need stainless steel brake lines but those can wait till i know how much this whole thing would cost.

Let me know if you have any answers too those questions!

Thanks

Clearance by 2mm's? That's close, but if it clears, it clears. I say go for it.

This also reminded me that I should upgrade my lines to stainless steel.

For my BB upgrade, the cost was as follows:

Reman calipers: $163
Rotors: $100
Re-drill 4 lug: $50
Red Stuff pads: $ 80
Ceramic caliper
lube: $8
Brake fluid: $8
Caliper Paint: $12

Total: $421

The smile on my face after it was completed: priceless.

And like I said before, I still need to get the SS brake lines. Soon enough.

I just call the Mitsubishi dealer and they can't order them. Can't think of any other ideas. If the dealer can't then I'm not sure who can. Might have to think of a new plan. I really wanted 2 or even 4 piston caliper. I really don't want to get new rims just to accommodate bigger brakes.

Does anyone on here have any other ideas? My dad thinks he can find some so well will see if he does lol.

You could have them made. I know of a place that might be able to do it. Tell me exactly what rotors you want. Make, model, year, bolt pattern, everything and I can call them Monday and see if they can make them and get a price if they can.
1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo II, 4x114.3, Center Hub Bore 67.1 Let me know. Other wise my dad might have found something. I think the evo rotors and eclipse calipers will be cheaper though.
Why didnt you just get the tiburon callipers?
Why didnt you just get the tiburon callipers?
Are they duel piston?
No they are a slightly larger single but its direct bolt on and you get the rotors redrilled. Then chuck ebc green stuff.

Dual pistons are the XG300 same as my DP they where fitting on a 16inch rim and i had Sonata rotors from R1 concepts
They place I know isn't open until Tuesday so I can call them then. I'll let you know.

Did you ever find out anything?

Sorry man, I completely forgot. I just sent them a message asking about your specifications so I should hear back in the next few days. I'll let you know as soon as I hear back.
