You relieze that the VVT in the Beta isn't there for the same purpose as Honda V-crap right?

They are not the same thing.

VVT is for emissions, not for large HP gains, like V-tec

Spike is right, CVVT is intended to reduce emissions and increase MPGs slightly. This is why I'm considdering disabling the CVVT module on my 04. I wonder what kind of a difference it would make, and if it would affect the engine negatively. Furthermore, I have NO idea how one goes about disabling it, but that shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
