What were some peoples first cars, I'm just curious. Mine was an 89 plymouth reliant. It was good for the 5 day that I had it. The headgasket blew and as I was repairing that (in the middle of winter....in the cold) a hole developed in the block and then I had to get rid of it. Now for you guys. What was your first car?

1983 Pontiac Grand Prix V8 (in 1996). Followed by a 1986 IROC Z-28 Camaro - obviously V8 - (in 1998). Then the XD (2002) and added the Santa Fe (2004) last month. That's my history.

Someday I'll be returning to a V8... right now the funds and availablity of them prevents me from driving a nice shiney GTO.

82 280zx 2 seater.. man I loved and miss that car. Blew the exhaust manifold off of it. Didn't know the cat had clogged (I wasn't real bright back then car wise) down shifted.. BOOM. I think there must have been a crack near the flange. Didn't take the entire thing. Could have fixed it but i needed the money and was getting a 95 Nissan P/u. I should have keep it... After the nissan I had an 87 LTD (had a kid.. hated that boat), then an 01 Accent GS (love and miss it.. fastest stock accent time todate at [email protected]) traded it in RIGHT as it hit 50,000. I mean it rolled into the parking lot and hit 50k. Kinda neat. Now I have the elantra. Im going to keep it :D

My first car, also the car I had before this, was a 1996 Intrepid. Big car but I really liked it while I had it, never gave me huge problems, sold it at 127,000 for $1500 to a friend of mine to put a down payment on my '04 Elantra.

I had a 1985-1/2 Ford Escort. It had a Cadillac logo on the front, a "turbo" badge from a Saab on the back, fuzzy dice, a hula girl, and a suicide knob. I drove that thing into the ground.

1975 Volkswagen Beetle. First year of fuel injection on those things. Couldn't accelerate up hills cause the damn thing only had 55 HP and weighed like 1500 lbs. Had a factory hand-crank sunroof that was cool and very rare though. That was in 97. Then 90 Honda Prelude. Loved that car but totaled it. Then 2001 Ford Ranger EDGE. Miss that truck. And now my 04 XD.

First car was an 82 GMC Jimmy, had 200,000 miles on it, 2.8 6v auto- it was SLOW, boxy and old- never did like it much, mom spent more time in it than i did. also drove an 82 Chevette, 88 Beretta GT, 93 Pontica Grand Am, 88 Accord, 84 Dodge Colt <the imported omni looking thing> 97 Cavalier, 87 Chyrsler 5th Avenue- was grandparents car, 94 chevy blazer, 90 Plymouth Sundance, 89 Plmouth Acclaim, 95 Plymouth Acclaim, 90 Plymouth Acclaim........ and then FINALLY the 2001 Elantra- no other cars since- see what a hyundai can do. Looking back, id say my favorite was a tie between the 5th Avenue and the Beretta- funny, thoes being the two most powerful cars ive driven.. future prospects, most likey a Mazda 3 next summer, followed by a Chrysler 300C.

first car was a bike - 82 Suzuki gs450L
Then when it got cold I got a 78 Toyota truck (piss yellow on top, sh1t brown on the bottom) got it for $500 and drove it for 2 yrs till the frame rusted through, sold it to a guy who needed the motor for $400.
next was the "love bus" - 79 Chevy van - 350 4brl w/side pipes and a full size bed in the back! loved it but you could see the gas gage move when you punched it (14mpg).
Then got my brothers 79 Toyota Celica - Brown, it had been repainted so many times the paint was cracking like a 100yr old house, I stripped the roof and found 8 diff layers of colors.
First new car was a 90 S-10, No air no nothing not even a radio.
Gave the s-10 to my dad
and bought a 94 Hyundai Excel drove it till a valve started knocking. traded in on Rio
2001 Kia Rio - biggest piece of Sh1t I ever drove, only had it 9 months and could not trade it in fast enough.
2002 Elantra - I am in love with this car, plan on keeping it for many years.

So thats my car history, there are also 5 diff Bikes sprinkled in there to.

First car was a 1991 Plymouth Colt, 1.5L 2-barrel carb with a 3speed auto. Awesome car, gutless as all get out in a straight line, but even on 175/70/13 tires I could make that car do some really stupid stuff, it was the most predictable car I've ever driven. Tough too, I jumped it countless times, never broke a suspension piece, even at 140km/h, 4 feet in the air, for quite a distance. Of course near the end of its earthly course, it would creak and groan around corners as I had destroyed all structural integrity. Then I had a 2001 Accent GSi 1.6L 5spd, traded it in at 130,000kms on this Elantra, I will love this XD once it gets up to proper specs, right now, it seriously disappoints me in the suspension and braking departments.
