How long have you driven your Elantra on one tank of gas? Meaning, it was full, you drove until you had to fill up 14+ gallons. How many miles (or kilometers converted into miles) did you go?

i wanted to see how everyone is doing on mileage. Hyundai says the tank is 14.5 gallons but I have put in 16 gallons when the car is totally out. I usually average 405 miles on a tank when I driver 70 mph or under freeway driving. Thats on 89 gas. Wednesday I filled up with 91 octane and as of this moring I have 460 miles and it is still running. I bought a gas can and put a gallon in to see how far this will go. This is my record, Im sure I can get another 15 miles before I'm out.Thanx SuperGLS for doin' this.

I think 470 was the most I went on my trip from ohio back to MD before I got nervous and put gas in it.

absolute best i got was on a road trip to 6 flags in socal with two passengers and about 40-50lbs of stuff in the trunk. after getting home, i had 593 miles on the trip meter and put in roughly 14.1 gallons (reset the trip ,eter after each fill-up). never even came close to that ever again. averaged 390/tank after my intake went in.

before leaving on the road trip, i went 2 clicks past the initial auto cut-off, and cruise was set to 75 mph, and about 30 minutes of sub-40mph LA traffic.

I think the most I've ever gotten is in the 350's. I don't do much highway driving at all though, everything is stop go.

We have roads here that are called highways, but they have stop lights every couple of blocks, does that even make sense? We need real highways. Takes 45 mins to drive 20 miles on a "so-called highway" :(

Best I've gotten is 360. Average 320. My Elantra won't take nothing more than 12.6 gallons, might be because I don't ride the gas light very long.

with this elantra I have yet to see 330 on a tank. (header, no cats, no O2 sensors either) On my old elantra with just the intake and a cat back the best I got was 398, that was to delaware for the weekend, running around there, the drive home, and on my way to work Monday morning. It litterally ran out of gas 100 feet from the gas station 1/4 mile away from work.

Hi. I have driven in heavy traffic (Stop and Go) around 320 miles on a full tank. On the highway it is somewhere around 460miles. I do want to point out that I was doing some numbers today and found out that when you fill your gas tank, you add 88lbs of fuel weight to your vehicle. I am not sure whether the EPA performs the estimated mpg/gal with a full tank but I do believe that as you burn fuel out, your car gets lighter, and thus more efficient. With half a tank, you are taking of 44lbs of weight from your vehicle so I am guessing that as you get closer to the empty, you get more miles to each gallon as opposed with a full tank. Just my humble opinion...

I hit just over 400 miles once, when my car was about 2 years old. Now, I'm lucky if I get much over 300 miles to a tank.

Car is approaching 3 years old, I can get about 520 km to a tank, which is about 323 miles.

I shift anywhere from 3000 to 5000 RPM depending on the situation and my average speed in town is 60 to 70 km (37 to 43 miles) depending on the situation and about 100 to 140 km (60 to 85 miles) on the highway depending on the situation.

I used to get over 400 miles easy, but never let it go that far once the fuel light came on (about 430 miles). Now, i'm getting about 380 if I'm lucky :(

Do y'all think new plugs and wires will help? O2 sensor?
