Thank you Bob for your response about the O2 sensor. It makes sense now.

And I have never heard of the scangauge. Pretty cool.

i have the scan gauge its great it reads codes and has 8 gauges to use. the speed gauge on my sonata went bad and to get it fixed would have bin $1,000 vs the $200 for the scan gauge.

I get about 400-430 miles on a tank, but out of that about 370 are on the interstate highway every week. I have a 40 mile commute each way. Work is about 1 mile from the highway exit and I live about 2 miles from the highway.

I just filled up and put in 14.35 gallons ($51!).

The best mileage I've ever gotten was when the car was 2-3 years old and I was driving from Orlando to my parent's house. Google Maps puts that at 444 miles. When I pulled into my parents driveway, it read I still had 1/4 tank remaining.

I have gotten it over 500 ONCE after that. Now though, driving almost 100% freeway at 72-75mph I'm lucky to break 400. Something wrong with the gas up here.

This is kind of like the question how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie pop from the Vintage commercial. (Showing my age) I usually bite at the lowest price at the pump in one of the three states I travel through regulary, So I never get to the real answer of how many miles on a tank of gas. My 2011 doesnt have a 15 gallon tank, but I sure appreciate never having to spend more than $30 at the gas pump.

liars!

400 + miles a tank, u smokin crack ?^^^

The scangauge is pretty popular on a lot of other forums. http://www.scangauge.com/

Does things like GPH, which can't be easily calculated. Your mpg ratings are only going to be as good as your cars sensors though (i.e. you use the wrong wheel/tire combo and it has no way to know that).
how much is this scamguage?

Well I know I'm not on crack.... I drove 722km with mine. I drove from Blenheim, Ontario (Canada) to Ottawa, Ontario on a tank. When I shut it off I could have still gone 70km (GT edition tells you how far you can go). So I guess I could have almost hit 800km .

I'll remember to smoke some crack before my next trip to get maximum fuel economy though :D

I just filled up my tank with $40 which is about 15 gallons. Ill post my mileage when im at E.
So my gas light turned on at 202 miles. This was over a week of daily use for school and work. I do deliveries but that week was slow and the days i worked were Thursday-Sunday.
I'm a mixed driver but i still don't see why i have such low gas mileage. I might have an idea though. About a year ago my step dad hooked up the code reader for check engine lights(forgot what its called) and the code was an O2 sensor. A few months back i had the light up again and it was a code po455 evap syst, leak large. Maybe that has something to do with my low mileage?

I only gotten over 450+ in 1 thank once, that was when the car was completely 100% stock, I did a road trip to las vegas at a steady 70mph with no traffic all the way both ways.
trick was I fueled up, reset my trip A on the dash, left home at midnight and got there around 5am, did the same on the way home a few days later, I calculated the mpg at 38+ at the gas pump. it all depends what kind of driving you do and how you drive. I drive mostly highway so I usually average 29-31mpg driving to work.

Just filled up today and totalled the miles per tank on my odometer and it showed 460.1 which is one of the best i have had on 87 octane. This is all highway traffic, 80-90 miles per day with little to no traffic and average speed at 50 mph.
