Recently, I put new Sport Edition A10 wheels on my Elantra along with Kuhmo Sense KR26 tires. I had the original steel wheels that come with the GLS on my car. I have heard about the potential for the XD chasis in regards to handling, but I never thought to pursue it. However, the new wheels and tires really changed the way the car handles. The wheels only weigh in at about 13 pounds each, and the steel rims that I had weigh around 21 pounds. The car now feels significantly more agile. Now, I have an engine-swapped Miata as a weekend car so I know what good handling feels like, and I was very impressed!
Because I got a taste of what the car is capable of, I decided to do a lot of upgrades. So far, I have purchased:
1. Sensen struts
2. H & R Springs
3. An 18mm Tibby swaybar (and parts needed to install it)
4. Brakemotive Drilled and slotted rotors (for front brakes only)
I'm hoping to have all of this stuff installed in a couple of weeks. I'll let you all know how it goes and post pics once it's done!
